Interactive Entertainment, and DC have officially announced Batman: Arkham Shadow, a brand-new entry in the beloved Arkham series that will release exclusively for the Meta Quest 3 in late 2024. Batman: Arkham Shadow will mark the second time that a virtual reality take on the Arkham series has been released.

Rocksteady Studios’ Arkham-Verse games are one of the most iconic and influential Batman stories of the 21st century, arguably second only to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. The games are built on the foundations of Batman: The Animated Series and feature many returning voice actors, but even by the second entry had begun to tell a tale quite different to that previously emerged from Gotham City.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is finally out and, mercifully, it’s not the disaster everyone had feared. It’s not what fans wanted from a sequel to Arkham Knight and is far from a perfect game, but there is some enjoyment to be had battling through Metropolis in the wake of Brainiac’s invasion.

Batman: Arkham series spoilers ahead.The Joker is back in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and the developers at Rocksteady have just shared some insight into why this new version of the Clown Prince of Crime looks so different from the one from past Arkhamverse games. Although the Joker fatally succumbed to Titan poisoning at the end of 2011’s Batman: Arkham City, there were rumors that Rocksteady was planning to bring the cackling fiend back in some way in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s post-launch DLC.

Rocksteady Studios’ long anticipated Arkhamverse sequel Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be available to play for those who have preordered it on Jan 30, and to the public at large on its official release date of Feb. 2.

Though it hasn’t made its way onto Destructoid’s list of most hotly anticipated titles of 2024, Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League sure as heck is coming. Due to release on February 2, Suicide Squad is also getting a suite of post-launch content, in true live-service fashion.

As Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League nears its launch, developer Rocksteady has confirmed that the game's post-launch DLC will bring iconic DC villain Joker as a playable character. The studio made the announcement Monday in the third episode of its Suicide Squad Insider developer diary series, detailing its plans for delivering free post-launch seasonal content to players who buy the game, multiversal concepts and a few multiplayer features that will be present at launch. According to Rocksteady, each post-launch season will feature two episodes and will follow the theme of a DC villain, bringing new ways to play. The new announcement follows the developers teasing hundreds of character builds and distinct loadouts earlier this month.

Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will send DC villains Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and King Shark on a mission to put a bunch of good guys out of their mind-controlled misery next month. But the Suicide Squad team won’t be limited to just those four playable characters; The Joker is up next, and he’ll be brought back to life thanks to Rocksteady’s use of the multiverse — or as DC Comics has called it for the past 35 years, Elseworlds.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady’s multiplayer Destiny-like with DC villains, will fill the conspicuously Joker-shaped hole in its rogues’ gallery of Batman baddies in March with the launch of the live service game’s first season of free post-launch content.

Rocksteady Studios is about to launch Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League on Feb. 2, and you have just a little more time to pre-order to get early access and in-game cosmetics. We won’t have a verdict on the anticipated game until later this month, but why not use the downtime to jump into the studio’s finest superhero adventures?

It's once again that time of year when a bunch of dedicated gamers gather in a conference room to play through their favorite titles as quickly as possible in the name of charity. Just last month, rumors surfaced around the upcoming title Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League that several major villains from the Arkham series would be returning as part of post-launch DLC. These included the likes of Deathstroke and Poison Ivy, the latter of which was confirmed to be part of the main story, albeit in a seemingly very unpopular child form.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League exists at a strange intersection of gaming hype. On the one hand, obviously, we are and should be excited for Rocksteady's return to the Arkham Universe that it popularized through some of the greatest superhero games of all time. Obviously. But on the other hand, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League deviates from so many of the conventions that made Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight so beloved. And so many of those conventions that Kill the Justice League embraces – such as a team-based, co-op infrastructure, and a live-service-inspired post-launch content plan – have crashed and burned in other superhero games, most notably Crystal Dynamic's ill-fated 2020 Avengers title.

VR continues to expand. What was once thought of as a fad has now grown into a lucrative market, with Sony's PlayStation VR 2, the Meta Quest 3, HTC Vive, Valve Index and many more headsets all now competing to come out on top.

Batman: Arkham Knight is being updated next month with the suit worn by Robert Pattinson in last year's film The Batman. Arriving on 15th December 2023, the suit will actually be available first in the new Nintendo Switch version of Batman: Arkham Trilogy, but will then be offered as a free download to PS4 players and PS5 owners using backwards compatibility.

Even though it's a pretty great game, Batman: Arkham Knight has a very rough history when it comes to its performance. It ran so badly on PC back at launch that developer Rocksteady Studios had to delist the title to fix the issues and apologize to fans for its release. Fast-forward over eight years, and it seems as though Rocksteady hasn't learned its lesson, as Arkham Knight is reportedly "unplayable" on the Nintendo Switch.

Rocksteady and WB Games’ iconic Batman: Arkham Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch next month and with it a timed exclusive new suit based on Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

Remember Robert Pattinson’s suit from The Batman, which mysteriously ended up in Batman: Arkham Knight on the Epic Games Store? It was removed without explanation but is confirmed to be in the Batman: Arkham Trilogy, which launches this week. Thankfully, it seems the suit isn’t exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, at least not permanently.

A new skin from the movie The Batman has been officially confirmed for Arkham Knight, a month after it was accidentally added to the PC version of the game.

We’re not exactly sure why Rocksteady believed it was the best time to put the Batman Arkham Trilogy on Nintendo Switch, but they’re doing it, and it’s coming out in a few days. The long-delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is finally seeing release in February 2024, and fans just got another look at the game via the first in a series of developer diaries. That new video not only reveals new gameplay footage and the fact that Metropolis will be twice the size of Arkham City’s Gotham map, it also addresses perhaps the single biggest mystery surrounding the plot of the game. Namely, how exactly can a team this small and underpowered hope to defeat the entire Justice League?

A new skin was briefly added to the Epic Games Store version of Batman: Arkham Knight.

Screenshots have surfaced on Twitter of a new suit added to Arkham Knight after eight years, themed around The Batman which is now nearly two years old. It's strange, completely unexpected, and the update doesn't seem to be live for everyone. Regardless, you can see it below thanks to @Venturian628, who shared some photo mode snapshots of the costume in action.

One of the most celebrated actors to portray The Joker across all media is actor Mark Hamill. First taking on the role in 1992's Batman: The Animated Series, he quickly became a fan-favorite for his raucous yet still chilling take on the character, serving as a great foil to late Batman actor Kevin Conroy in the classic show and the subsequent animated movies and video games in the decades that followed.

If you really, really wanted to take a gamble on whether or not the Batman: Arkham games would be optimized for the Switch when the set of newly-announced trilogy ports arrives later this year, it looks like you’ll be waiting a bit longer for it. WB has announced that the Batman: Arkham Trilogy pack has been shifted out of its original October 13 window (which was right around the corner!) and is now set for December.

Though most of this year’s titles were released on time without much hassle, there are still some delays. For instance, Warner Bros. Games’ Batman: Arkham Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch. Set to release on October 13th, the publisher has announced a sudden delay to December 1st.

Earlier this year, developer Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Games revealed that it was bringing its Batman: Arkham trilogy to the Switch this fall. This collection does not include Batman: Arkham Origins (a great game), which was developed by Gotham Knights studio Warner Bros. Games Montreal. The Batman: Arkham Trilogy, as the Switch collection is called, was due out this month on October 13 but has now been delayed to December.

Warner Bros. Interactive announced the delay of Batman: Arkham Trilogy on Nintendo Switch. Previously announced for an October 13th launch, the collection will now debut on December 1st. The official tweet says:

While I love Spider-Man just as much as the next guy, I felt underwhelmed by Marvel’s Spider-Man 1. However, after watching the latest PlayStation State of Play, I’m impressed and excited to experience Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 looks to add a lot of Batman Arkham City features into the game and utilize the power of the PlayStation 5 which I think will improve it greatly. Here are the six things I think will make Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 even better than Marvel’s Spider-Man 1.

It’s a little ridiculous that, nearly seven years into the Nintendo Switch’s life, we’ve still not seen Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham trilogy release for the platform. Better late than never though, because that will be changing soon. In June, WB Games announced that Batman: Arkham Trilogy would be coming to the Switch this Fall, and now, a specific release date has been announced.
