Though it hasn’t made its way onto Destructoid’s list of most hotly anticipated titles of 2024, Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League sure as heck is coming. Due to release on February 2, Suicide Squad is also getting a suite of post-launch content, in true live-service fashion.
The very first batch of this content has only just been revealed, in fact, giving players a taste of what’s to come over the next couple of months. It should come as no surprise that much of what’s been revealed is classic live-service fare. Notably, not only was Rocksteady quite unshy about the game’s live-service leanings for some time now, but the whole thing got leaked not too long ago, adding even more fuel to the proverbial fire.
The good news, of course, is that Rocksteady seems intent on adding a wealth of post-launch content to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It’ll take a bit of time until the critics agree on whether the game warrants even pursuing this seasonal content based on its whelming gameplay reveal. Before that’s all settled, those who are keen on jumping into Brainiac-infested Metropolis can also look forward to new characters, weapons, activities, and other such goodies.
More specifically, Rocksteady has promised that all of the following content would be released as part of Suicide Squad‘s first post-launch seasonal release:
With the game coming out early in February, the fact that Season 1 is coming out in March is promising at face value. Content should be pouring into the title at a rapid pace if Rocksteady intends to keep things as brisk as they will be immediately after release, and there are at least three more seasons due for release over the course of the year.
Seasons 2 to 4 should, therefore, feature the following content:
It is all fairly standard fare for a modern live-service offering, however, so those who might’ve hoped for a bit more out-there pizazz from Rocksteady may end up being slightly disappointed. That being what it is, it’s going to be interesting to see how the Joker returns following his death in Batman: Arkham City, and whether Rocksteady can pull off such a monumental reveal.

A Batmam Arkham fan has riled up the fanbase with something the fans didn’t even know they wanted.
Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may not be the last we’ll see of the Arkhamverse’s Batman. A newly discovered Easter egg hints that the Dark Knight will return in some fashion, despite the premise of the game’s title.
Things aren’t looking good for Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With the shadow of failed live-service superhero games looming over it, Suicide Squad needed an early victory to prove itself to fans and demonstrate that it’s not like the games that came before it.
2024 is off to a flying start when it comes to games, with major titles like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and Tekken 8 releasing in January. February, too, promises a host of new launches across different genres from big-name developers like Rocksteady Studios, Square Enix, and Ubisoft. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League kicks off this month, bringing players back into the beloved Arkham universe, albeit with a live service twist. While previous Batman Arkham games were narrative-focussed single player titles, Suicide Squad is co-op looter shooter with colour-coded guns, content drops, and microtransactions.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is finally out and, mercifully, it’s not the disaster everyone had feared. It’s not what fans wanted from a sequel to Arkham Knight and is far from a perfect game, but there is some enjoyment to be had battling through Metropolis in the wake of Brainiac’s invasion.
When you make the greatest trilogy of superhero games ever, the wait for your next game is going to be excruciating for fans.
Developer Rocksteady Studios has taken its new live-service multiplayer shooter set in the Batman: Arkham universe, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice Leauge, offline after Early Access players hit a «story completion» bug. While the standard edition of the game doesn't hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC until this Friday, February 2, players who purchase the more expensive Deluxe Edition, which costs $99.99 compared to the Standard Edition's $69.99 price tag, can jump in three days early.
Like many modern releases, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League put its short early access period behind a paywall. While the game fully launches on February 2, anyone who paid for the Deluxe Edition is meant to be able to play 72 hours early. However, that is not working in practice.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is out now - as long as you opted into its early access release and you live in New Zealand where it's now January 30 - but it's already been pulled offline due to a huge bug with story progression.
Rocksteady Studios has been forced to pull Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League offline just one hour into its Deluxe Edition's early access launch due to a bug that automatically completed players' games.
Warning! Batman: Arkham series spoilers ahead. The Joker is back in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and the developers at Rocksteady have just shared some insight into why this new version of the Clown Prince of Crime looks so different from the one from past Arkhamverse games. Although the Joker fatally succumbed to Titan poisoning at the end of 2011’s Batman: Arkham City, there were rumors that Rocksteady was planning to bring the cackling fiend back in some way in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s post-launch DLC.
