Voice acting in video games has grown leaps and bounds over the years. At first, it was a “luxury” to have voice acting in video games. Then, it was something you did, but you didn’t always need the “best voice actors” to get the job done. Fast forward to now, and you are almost required to have top-notch voice acting and potentially bring in A-List actors to be certain characters to add clout to the game. In the case of the Batman Arkham Trilogy, they had numerous voice acting talents, making the game emphatically good. But few will deny that one of the best of the bunch was Mark Hamill as The Joker.
Batman Arkham Trilogy Alights On Switch This December

Batman Arkham Trilogy has been delayed to December of this year on the Nintendo Switch.
As reported by Video Games Chronicle, this port that bundles in Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, and Batman Arkham Knight, is being handled by Turn Me Up Games. This studio also made the stellar ports of It Takes Two, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, and Borderlands Legendary Collection to the platform.
The official Batman Arkham Twitter account shared this message in a tweet:
“Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Nintendo Switch will now launch on December 1, 2023.
More time is needed to bring players the best possible experience on Nintendo Switch. We apologise to fans who are excited to play this version of the trilogy. Thank you for your patience.”
They had originally announced a release date of October 13, 2023.
We don’t know what technical issues, if any, that Turn Me Up Games ran into when they were making this port of the Batman Arkham games. However, if you have played any of the ports of the games they made, you will likely agree that it would definitely be worth the wait to have this studio run their magic and make great ports of these games as well.
The most likely candidate for a difficult port among the three would be Batman Arkham Knight. This latter game is significantly newer compared to the others. Batman Arkham Knight was released in 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
Having said that, we have seen the phenomenon of ‘impossible ports’ of games to the Nintendo Switch as well, such as The Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal. These versions of the games may not have parity with their home console counterparts, much less on PC. However, they are perfectly playable versions of the games, and Switch owners are sufficiently satisfied because they can see that these games were programmed in such a way that they really make use of the console’s capabilities.
In fact, it’s highly likely that the people buying this collection have already played these games on other platforms. The reason to buy this game here is the appeal of the promise of a definitive edition of these games, and that they would be playable on a portable platform, to boot. And of course, it doesn’t hurt that it’s a port for games Nintendo fans may not have played yet.
Nintendo got some odd ports of the Arkham games on the Wii U, including Batman Arkham City Armored Edition and Batman Arkham Origins. This new trilogy will be much better representation of the franchise on Nintendo platforms.
