The Least Coins for Super Mario Wonder, FFVII: Rebirth Prices Go Phoenix Down, and More!

Welcome back to the grind, fellow bargain-hunting game connoisseurs. I've found us a bunch of AAA Switch titles that have limboed down to the uncommon $59 mark (along with, er, Limbo itself, which is like 90% off). But the biggest news today has got to be the continuing 9 And Above Humble Bundle from last week, plus the genuinely great Fanatical Birthday Sale. Lots of stuff to see. Not to toot the horn too much, but damn, are we attached to quite the bundle right now. Scroll down a little, and you'll be met by The Nine and Above package for PC on Humble Bundle. The dollar-to-hours ratio is insane. Plus, there's the worthy cause and fuzzy feels attached to the purchase as well.

The Day Before, the post-apocalyptic survival MMO, has seen yet another delay, this time with Fntastic delaying the game till December 7th.

It's time to celebrate two things—the start of November and a bit of Mid-week Madness discounting. The former is great because it means our end-of-year breaks are within rendering distance (not just some objectless HUD marker on the horizon). And the benefits of discounts? Well, that speaks for itself, really. There's a fair chance we'll need to give gifts during the aforementioned break. May as well score 'em cheap now.

Gamers have been eating well throughout 2023, as it seems like the industry is pumping out an almost never-ending supply of quality titles. We've been handed some of the best reviewed games ever in recent months, thanks to Baldur's Gate 3 becoming a surprise smash hit, Nintendo knocking it out of the park with both Mario and Zelda, and Insomniac delivering arguably the best superhero game ever made.

This could just be how I process sad news, but whenever one of my fave actors or singers passes, I go and relive their best work. With the late great Matthew Perry, my brain connects him to three different mediums. In the sitcom Friends, I'll cherish him as Chandler Bing, aka Miss Chanandler Bong. He also shone as Oz, the slapstick dentist from the film The Whole Nine Yards. Most importantly, I'll remember when he used his considerable talent to play against type as Benny in Fallout: New Vegas.

Humble Bundles have provided a ton of value over the years, but the newest option with WB Games celebrating 100 years of Warner Brothers is one of the best values ever. It’s a multi-tiered bundle, with $5 getting you Batman Akrham Asylum: Game of the Year Edition, Batman Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, Mad Max, Mortal Kombat XL, and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor: Game of the Year Edition. Right out of the gate, you’re getting a fantastic open-world game with Mad Max, an exciting on-foot traversal brawler with Shadow of Mordor, one of the best MK entries ever with a ton of extra content, and two of the greatest Batman games ever with all of their available content as well. In the case of Arkham City, you’re getting one of the greatest games ever made and debates will rage as to which is better – Arkham City or Arkham Asylum, forever.

Just as I'd hoped it might, lightning has struck twice—the amazing discount on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has caught on with other retailers. So if you're an Amazon Prime subscriber, do take advantage of that price chop plus their free shipping.

While Halloween isn't massively celebrated here in Oz, we sure do take a heightened interest in those spooky sales. (Because, hell, I'll break out the festive spirit if there's up to 85% off in my future.) That's all I really have time to say, intro wise, as I suspect today's deals on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Resident Evil 4 will be blink and you'll miss 'em affairs. Happy hunting!

Here we are again, friends. Deep in the Wednesday grind, but peering ahead for ways to make the weekend awesome. In interesting cost-of-living times such as these, you and I can always look to games as the greatest (and cheapest) forms of escape. I got a bunch of those today; however, it's also a pretty great time to consider a steering wheel purchase. Especially on Xbox, for all my fellow Forza fans.

If you adore the Metal Gear series as much as I do, then today's your day. I have scoured my Soliton Radar for discounts that will let you secure a classic like Metal Gear Solid and remain financially liquid. The only foreseable problem: the Master Collections of these games do seem to be selling out quite rapidly on PlayStation and Xbox. Here's hoping stock levels remain stable (or get quickly refreshed via nanomachines).

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is almost here, and it sounds like fans will have a very full-featured adventure to jump into, although there will be a few minor things missing at launch. According to Insomniac community director James Stevenson, Spider-Man 2 won’t have a New Game+ mode or the ability to replay missions at launch. Thankfully, you shouldn’t have to wait too long for those features, as Stevenson says they should arrive via an update “before end of year.”
