Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Review Calls Game “Better Than Arkham City”

Gamers have been eating well throughout 2023, as it seems like the industry is pumping out an almost never-ending supply of quality titles. We've been handed some of the best reviewed games ever in recent months, thanks to Baldur's Gate 3 becoming a surprise smash hit, Nintendo knocking it out of the park with both Mario and Zelda, and Insomniac delivering arguably the best superhero game ever made.

Spider-Man 2's director, Bryan Intihar, has acknowledged that Sandman's inclusion in the sequel is a bit of a plothole thanks to a collectible that could be found in the first game.

Here's to hoping they eventually cross paths.

The latest update for Spider-Man 2 has somehow made The Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit (which was already the best outfit in the game) even better.

A new skin was briefly added to the Epic Games Store version of Batman: Arkham Knight.

Screenshots have surfaced on Twitter of a new suit added to Arkham Knight after eight years, themed around The Batman which is now nearly two years old. It's strange, completely unexpected, and the update doesn't seem to be live for everyone. Regardless, you can see it below thanks to @Venturian628, who shared some photo mode snapshots of the costume in action.

Spider-Man 2 is chock full of references to other Marvel properties, as New York itself features locations such as the Avengers Tower, the Sanctum Sanctorum, and the Wakandan Embassy, all of which are references to The Avengers, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. In fact, the latter even lets you throw up a wholesome Wakanda Forever salute outside of its doors as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, but you'd better make sure you're playing as Miles Morales if you want to do it.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 hit PlayStation 5 last week and it's already Sony's fastest-selling first-party game ever. However, some players have spotted a mishap related to one of the game's main protagonists, Miles Morales. His mother is Puerto Rican, and Miles is too, which is why some players found it odd that a Cuban flag hung both inside the Morales home and outside of it. After pointing it out the mistake, developer Insomniac Games has revealed a fix is on the way, as reported by PushSquare. 

Considering how successful Insomniac Games’ first two Spider-Man games (Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales) were, it wasn’t going to be difficult to convince fans to purchase the sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, on release day. With the highly anticipated new title, the studio takes everything they’ve learned from their previous superhero games and pushes the envelope even further with a slew of exciting features that fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for. So, before we even get into the details, it’s safe to say Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is everything you hoped for and more. It’s a masterpiece and easily the best game the PS5 has to offer so far.
