It seems the protagonist of Konami's Silent Hill 2 remake, currently in development at Bloober Team, has received a quiet redesign or perhaps had a face-lift. Electronic Arts' Motive Studio is moving to work on the Battlefield franchise.

Electronic Arts is adding Motive Studio, the team behind Star Wars: Squadrons and the 2023 remake of Dead Space, to the roster of developers working on the next Battlefield game. Byron Beede, general manager for the Battlefield franchise, and Patrick Klaus, general manager of Motive, announced the formation of a Battlefield-focused team at Motive on Tuesday — an announcement that also signaled the end of seasonal content for Battlefield 2042.

It’s been quite a roller coaster for Battlefield 2042, which launched in an embarrassing state back in 2021, but managed to scratch and claw its way back to a solid place one update at a time. Well, it seems the Battlefield 2042 story is finally coming to an end, as EA and DICE have announced major support for the game will cease at the end the currently-in-progress Season 7. Maintenance updates and reruns of past events will still happen, but no more major seasonal content is coming.

Dev Patel looks great beating people up in a suit. In the moments before he springs into action in Monkey Man, his tall, elegant frame looms threateningly, limbs hanging loose and ready, eyes glowering under twisted locks of black hair. When he strikes, it’s with whipcrack fluidity and control, but also emotional conviction — there’s a plausible desperation or rage to the way he moves.

No Man's Sky has become synonymous with ambitious developer overreach, a cautionary tale of what can happen when publishers do nothing to reign in out-of-control hype. Police in Japan arrested on April 3 a 27-year old man suspected of threatening Nintendo staff, events, and spectators. Due to these threats, Nintendo announced in December it was canceling several events, like Nintendo Live and the Splatoon Koshien 2023 finals, and postponing others. Japanese newspaper the Kyoto Shimbun first reported the arrest. According to the report, the man admitted to the threats.

Fast-forward to 2024, and the former two series have ended, while Tales got an order for another season last year with no further news.

For the next free update in the ever-expanding No Man’s Sky, industrious developer Hello Games has completely rebuilt space stations. As it notes in a press release, previously these were one aspect of the game which weren’t procedurally generated, but when the update launches later today (27th March), that will all change.
