In over a decade since the Burning Crusade, the Ashes of Al'ar are not particularly difficult to obtain at this point, as virtually any one at or near max level can quite easily solo Tempest Keep and defeat Kael'thas Sunstrider within, it remains a rare and highly coveted mount. Although a common misconception, it does not drop from Al'ar itself. Despite popular misconception, the Ashes drop from Kael'thas rather than Alar. Whether or not you are particularly interested in this mount, it's a good idea to head over to Shattrath and pick up Disturbance Detected: Black Temple anyway.

Fallout 4's "next generation" update goes live today. Although the weekly quest in Valdrakken awards half a Spark of Awakening used to craft max level gear, it appears players can earn another half this week as random loot from dungeons and raids too, allowing them to upgrade a piece of gear in the first week of Dragonflight Season 4! While previous Seasons also allowed players access to a full spark within the first week, the extra half was awarded from a quest, making it pretty hard for players to miss. This time, however, it's not quite so obvious, as one of the splinters isn't attached to a quest at all.

Unlocking and beating the Knave boss fight in can grant you important rewards for some characters, in addition to being one of the best encounters in the game. The Knave is the boss form of Arlecchino, the Fatui Harbinger that was first introduced as an NPC and was then added as a new playable character in 4.6. While Arlecchino is a ruthless and powerful DPS unit, she gets even more powerful in her boss form – this is quite similar to Raiden Shogun as a character versus her boss form in the region of Inazuma.

Crafting is as important a mechanic in Fallout 76 as shooting and looting. As is the case with every Bethesda game, you will be collecting every item in the world that isn’t nailed down to use for parts until you’re over–encumbered. However, one player has discovered that it even takes into account which companions make it to the end of the game - and changes the dialogue for those who beat it without any of them.

With Dragonflight Season 4 now live, players already clearing their weekly objectives have discovered that the Timewalking Weekly Quest cache contains lower than intended item level rewards! Although listed as item level 493, it only appears to be awarding 395 gear. Although an item level 493 reward is displayed, the cache is currently giving out only 395 gear. This is almost certainly a bug and one that Blizzard typically seeks to compensate players for, but players are advised to avoid turning in their weekly A Burning Path Through Time quest a fix has been confirmed.

Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) has confirmed it's developing a VR headset, and it'll be powered by Meta's Horizon OS — that's the operating system that devices like the Meta Quest 3 run on.

In a surprising move, Meta has announced the opening of the operating system behind its Quest mixed-reality headset. This means third-party hardware makers will be able to create their own mixed reality headsets; in fact, ASUS has already announced it is developing a high-performance gaming headset. S.Y. Hsu, Co-CEO of ASUS, said in a statement:

7 Days to Die, the survival open world first-person shooter zombie-themed game, will finally leave early access after over ten years. Developer The Fun Pimps announced the unexpected news during the weekend. The goal is to release version 1.0 in June for PC, while the console version will ship in July. Later, cross-play will be added to the game, probably with the first major post-launch update.

The Rising Tide is the second and final expansion for Final Fantasy 16, adding another worthwhile chapter to the tale of Clive Rosfield. Only accessible near the very end of the base game, this DLC is designed to be something of a sendoff for the action RPG, providing a new storyline that brings additional weight to the title's world building, while also giving players an opportunity to dive yet deeper into 16's slick combat system.

Work Orders have been a controversial addition to Crafting Professions since the rework in Dragonflight. While many players appreciated the ability to simply press a button to craft instead of having to go through a lengthy trading process, others quickly lamented the lack of Public Work Orders — or more specifically, Public Work Orders that were worth the gold to craft them in terms of pay. Blizzard has heard these criticisms and announced a new feature for Work Orders in The War Within: NPCs will place Work Orders in the crafting system to potentially alleviate some of the availability scarcity that currently plagues the market. Announced in the latest Wowcast, Blizzard stated that the NPCs won't provide monetary payments as lucrative as crafting Work Orders for other players.

Meta today announced some changes to its virtual reality business to make it a more open ecosystem for developers and users.

Each piece of Fallout 4 DLC adds something substantial to the base experience. In the case of the Automatron expansion, an entire new questline pitting you against a robot army led by a figure known as the Mechanist. The scale of the story grew with every chapter, folding in more countries and people that would eventually turn my ragtag team into a proper battalion. That sizable cast and loads of side content can add fluff to the campaign, with half-baked elements like encounters that rely on RNG to drag things down a bit. But for anyone willing to hold out long enough, Hundred Heroes’ slow burn eventually lights into an impressive fire.
