Baldur's Gate 3 allows players to make a wide variety of choices, whether that's moral decisions or even just deciding the order in which you approach the game's quests. However, one player has discovered that it even takes into account which companions make it to the end of the game - and changes the dialogue for those who beat it without any of them.
As discovered by Reddit user Whateverlmaoa, beating the game without any companions and then siding with The Emperor makes its final conversation with you much more pleasant. Here, it says the player has become "important" to it over the course of the game - which isn't surprising since you single-handedly orchestrated its plan. Still, it's interesting to see that Larian prepared for this situation, and accounted for how it would affect this relationship.
I suppose it shouldn't be too surprising that this dialogue exists. After all, this scene usually has to cram in voice lines from up to ten companions, so it's paced to accommodate this. Now, it's just you and whoever you choose to side with towards the end, so it makes sense that The Emperor was given something else to say. Still, it's interesting to see that its bond with the player is stronger here. Either that, or it's laying on the manipulation even thicker since it doesn't have anyone else to fall back on.
It's also wild to see players are still making discoveries like this so long after launch. We'll have even more scenes to track down soon though, with the next patch set to add new evil endings cinematics. From what we've seen so far, one revolves around becoming the Absolute, and another is exclusive to The Dark Urge. With that in mind, Emperor lovers might have to make do with this hidden piece of dialogue, because it doesn't look like Larian is adding another ending for the mind flayer.
For fans of other questionable pairings, Larian has also confirmed that you won't be able to kiss Gortash in the next patch.
If you want to experience a solo run for yourself, fans in the Reddit thread highlight that you are allowed to use hirelings, so at least there's that. You'll just have to avoid or even kill the other companions the game throws at you. Although fun fact about avoiding Astarion - you'll actually run into him again later on. He won't be doing too well, though.

A Stardew Valley fan is sharing their concept for a Joja mod that could add a lot to the current experience of siding with Joja Corporation. While Stardew Valley has always had an option for players who would rather side with Joja Corporation, the route has been criticized in the past, as some players have felt there isn't much incentive to do a Joja Corporation runthrough. While that might be intentional, mods can always help to change the experience in the more dramatic ways that fans are hoping for.
