In Dragonflight, Professions as we knew them were completely revamped: gone were the days of simply crafting an item in one go; instead, players could craft, recraft, and recraft again the same items over and over in order to produce consistently stronger weapons, armor, trinkets, and profession gear over time. One key piece to this system was Sparks — Optional Crafting Reagents that allowed players to adjust the minimum item level a piece of gear would be crafted at. Based off our datamining, it looks like that system will continue in The War Within.

Mortal Kombat 1 players have discovered a secret Brutality for all characters that developer NetherRealm appears to have stealth-dropped into the game.

Helldivers 2 players have been getting reinforcements in the fight against the Automatons and Terminids for quite a while now, but we've not really had anything of real substance since mechs dropped at the start of March, and they're pretty fragile at the best of time. Helldivers have been itching for firepower, and the recent leaks surrounding APCs are making fans antsy.

The War Within is bringing new Profession recipes to players, which means new and interesting effects on crafted epics! Players will remember how useful some crafted items like Elemental Lariat were in Dragonflight, and The War Within is introducing effects just as interesting and unique on the newest epics for players to experiment with. While not yet present on any of the crafted items, we have found a new Embellishment tag, suggesting that the most powerful special effects on crafted gear will be limited similar to Dragonflight. While we've mainly discovered Leatherworking and Jewelcrafting effects so far, we're sure there will be many more to come!

The start of an expansion is always an exciting time, between leveling characters, discovering new locations and stories, and learning new Professions. Those who have an excess amount of Profession Knowledge won't get to carry it forward to The War Within, though — players will be starting from scratch with their Professions. With our continued alpha test datamining, we've discovered legendary trinkets associated with none other than our longtime friend Brann Bronzebeard, famed explorer and designated Delve companion in Season 1 of The War Within! While we don't have a lot to go off of right now, this appears very different from most legendaries we are used to. Most interesting is the relation to Bann Bronzebeard, who we already know is the designated Delve companion for Season 1, though the fact that the trinket either summons Brann or buffs him if he's already present suggests that the trinket isn't just meant for use during Delves where he would always be present anyway. There's also a potential hint within the flavor text, in that the trinket is «Entrusted to you by Brann Bronzebeard himself.» We may be reading a little too far into it, but that sounds an awful lot like the trinket could be a reward for maxing out some kind of level, friendship, or reputation track with the explorer.

While some bugs sometimes affect the player's experience negatively, other errors cause different situations, some unexpected and amusing.

A new Season of Discovery questline has been discovered and reported to us by Wowhead user Geartrix, allowing Goblin and Gnomish Engineers to learn recipes from the other specialization! Goblin and Gnomish Engineers have traditionally been blocked from learning recipes associated with the other Specialization once locked in. This, however, looks to have changed in Phase 3 with the implementation of Engineering Exchange Ticket. After leveling Engineering to 225 and unlocking a Specialization, players will have access to a new quest (Gnomish Solutions/Goblin Solutions) offered by Fizzbizz Coppercoil in the Shimmering Flats in Thousand Needles. For Gnomish Engineers, this quest requires two Gnomish Harm Prevention Belt, while Goblins need to provide 5 Goblin Land Mine. Turning in this quest gives you another — this time to kill Thunderstomp Stegodon in Un'goro Crater for a Thunderstomp Stegodon Horn (Require Gnomish Problems/Require Goblin Problems). Next, you'll need to complete the quest Watering Down the Competition by heading to Hearthglen and finding a Box of Scarlet Dye upstairs in one of the houses next to the bed. Return to the Shimmering Flats once more, and after a few more quests such as Victory Lap for the Gnomes!, you'll be directed to speak with Maximillian «The Greaser» — who will offer the quest Hush Money, which can be completed weekly for an Engineering Exchange Ticket. It appears that it will take eight weeks to earn all available recipes for each Specialization.Maximillian «The Greaser» will then offer you recipes for the opposite specialization — take a look!

Fresh from our trove of Season 4 PTR datamining, comes a new Rare Elixir with a very unique effect, the Profane Mindcage. The Mindcage increases the Helltide Monster Level by 10 as well as the Abberrant Cinder drop rate and the amount of threat gained. So, theoretically, this Elixir would make Helltides more difficult; this is a welcome improvement, considering how fun the event has become with the Season 4 changes. But that's not at all: What this Elixir might possibly be linked to is the most intriguing piece. While some information leads to a Possible Iron Wolves Season 4 Theme, this Elixir might be related to previously found new items. While there's no direct link between the Elixir and the Iron Wolves, there are breadcrumbs. The new Helltide events feature players assisting the Iron Wolves with cleansing the land of demonic influence as well as «Wolf's Honor» reputation being received for killing certain enemies. It would make sense that these Elixirs have something to do with those events. Further, we've discovered reputation rewards and caches, that subsequently would drop as rewards for completing certain events.
