Helldivers 2 Dev Is Cracking Down On "Undemocratic" Super Credit Farming

Helldivers 2 has a few different currencies, but the one that everyone wants is the Super Credits. They're the premium currency of Helldivers 2 that you can use to unlock cool armor in the game's store and the premium Warbonds, which are filled with goodies. They can be either be bought or found scattered pretty liberally across pretty much every planet you drop onto, which is unusually generous of a live service title. Unfortunately, some players have been taking advantage of developer Arrowhead's kindness.
With a free way to earn Super Credits, there were always going to be people who went out of their way to farm them, and a recently discovered exploit has made it much easier to grab Super Credits in bulk, albeit very slowly. Helldivers 2 players were quick to notice that if you grab some Super Credits and then force quit the game on your PC or turn off your PS5, the currency would still be in your account despite not having completed the mission.
There's every chance you may have run into one of these individuals during your drops, and it can be very irritating to feel like you've got some nice squad synergy going only for a rando to dip once they've got their Super Credits fix. One fan has been so annoyed by the practice that they went to the game's Discord server to complain directly to Arrowhead, and they got a response for their efforts (thanks GamesRadar).
Speaking to the disgruntled player, Helldivers 2 community manager Twinbeard has explained that Arrowhead is "aware of this undemocratic behavior", and thanks the player for doing their "sworn duty" as a patriotic Helldiver. Unfortunately, Twinbeard doesn't go any further into how far along they are with a potential fix, and it's possible that Arrowhead simply has more important things to work on at the moment.
For example, fire damage is a massive problem plaguing the community at the moment, compounded by how often we've had to deal with fire tornadoes after all that time spent on Menkhet. Arrowhead recently admitted that the damage it's doing to players over time is "ridiculous" at the moment and has promised a fix is in the works, as well as a complete overhaul of the rewards system. Arrowhead clearly has things higher on its priority list, but at least we know that the developer is planning on addressing the problem at some point.
