As a sci-fi RPG coming from ex-BioWare devs, it’s no surprise that Exodus is getting as much attention from Mass Effect as it is, and clearly, the game is going to offer a similar experience to BioWare’s series in a number of key ways.

Elminster Aumar, the Sage of Shadowdale, is a powerful wizard and Chosen of Mystra who appears in Baldur's Gate 3 to tell Gale he has to kill himself in a big fiery explosion. It's a bit harsh to essentially travel the Sword Coast to bring word that your ex wants you dead (even if it's for the 'greater good'), but it turns out that old 'Minster couldn't be bothered to do it in person.
A fan tried to cast "Hold Person II" on Elminster, but they were told that the "Target must be a humanoid". That's because he's a construct of the real Elminster, so technically, the version we meet isn't human.
To reiterate, Mystra sent her Chosen to tell her ex to kill himself, but her Chosen instead sent a construct who in turn ate all of our cheese. I'm starting to side with the players who killed him for all that sweet, sweet XP.
Elminster is a great, renowned wizard (he even has a line of D&D books!), so he's not just going to send an ordinary construct to make Gale water-weep.
Fans think that he sent a Simulacrum, an illusory duplicate of a humanoid that is "partially real" and made of either ice or snow. It has half of your health, is formed without equipment (imagine Elminster summoning a naked clone of himself), and cannot grow stronger or learn anything new.
We know from inspecting Elminster that his construct has 240 health, so if he is a Simulacrum, that means the real Elminster has 480hp. That's one tough old man. But not so tough as to be able to face Gale in person, huh?
Baldur's Gate 3 is the long-awaited next chapter in the Dungeons & Dragons-based series of RPGs. Developed by Divinity creator Larian Studios, it puts you in the middle of a mind flayer invasion of Faerûn, over a century after the events of its predecessor.
