Dave The Diver comes to PS Plus Extra and Premium April 16th

Fallout 76, the online survival game set in the Fallout universe, got a massive player base boost thanks to the combination of the Prime Gaming giveaway, heavy discounts, and the popularity of the Amazon Prime Video TV series (just renewed for a second season).

If Dave the Diver proves anything, it's that one shouldn't make judgements based on appearances. Not only does the loveable lead character exceed the expectations of his cohorts at every turn, but the game itself goes well beyond what it looks like. At a glance, this is a charming adventure about exploring the sea, catching fish, and running a sushi restaurant. It is all that, but it also refuses to settle, constantly evolving the experience in surprising and compelling ways.

Sony is clearing up space for new additions to the PS Plus Service. Unfortunately, that means PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium members will lose access to some incredible titles, including a number of Final Fantasy entries and popular indie hits.

The PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog is expanding to include 14 new games today. The April 2024 additions to PS Plus even include one day-one release.

For a small game, Dave the Diver has made a big splash — pun fully intended.

Dokuysei: Bangin’ Summer for PlayStation 4 and Switch, and digital releases such as DAVE THE DIVER for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Umurangi Generation for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR2, and Quest, and Tales of Kenzera: ZAU for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC are the highlights of this week’s Japanese video game releases.

I’ve been playing Inkbound for the past several months, and now that the game has finally launched, it’s time to turn a critical eye to their 1.0 version, and delve deep into the pages hidden within this co-op roguelike strategy game.

Sony has revealed the slate of games joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in April. In the coming weeks, PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tier members will get access to deep-sea exploration RPG Dave the Diver, Metroidvania action title Tales of Kenzera: Zau, indie platformer Animal Well, open-world racing title Crew 2, action platformer Raji: An Ancient Epic and more. Most of these games will be available on the PS Plus catalogue on April 16. Tales of Kenzera: Zau and Animal Well, on the other hand, will join the service as day-one launch titles on April 23 and May 9, respectively.

PlayStation has officially confirmed Animal Well as a day one game for the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus. While Xbox Game Pass features more day one games on average, PlayStation Plus has added its fair share of day one games over the years as well. In fact, a day one game is coming to the subscription service later this month.

Rely on your wits in Animal Well, slip into a wetsuit with Dave the Diver and journey through mystical 2.5D realms in Tales of Kenzera: Zau. All three games launch onto PlayStation as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. And there are even more games joining April’s Game Catalog lineup. Let’s take a closer look at each.
