Dave the Diver developer MintRocket has revealed its next game, a PVP team-based arena battler called Wakerunners. The studio’s first project,released in mid-2023, is a whimsical pixel-based adventure game. Its appealing gameplay loop sucked players in, leading Dave the Diver to be an unexpected viral success, surprising even the developer.

Monstrous giants lurk in the unfathomable depths of the Blue Hole, their formidable presence striking terror into the hearts of any who dare to venture into their domain. They interfere with Dave’s tranquil fishing pursuits, yet unwittingly become prime ingredients for his sushi restaurant. Their colossal forms lend an unexpected and savory twist to the culinary creations.

The PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog is expanding to include 14 new games today. The April 2024 additions to PS Plus even include one day-one release.

Sony has announced the April 2024 game lineup for Extra and Premium Playstation Plus subscribers, along with a few new Classics Catalog titles for Premium members. All titles will be available to play on April 16.

Mintrocket's is coming to PlayStation Plus on April 16. As its name would suggest, the title follows a professional diver called Dave who catches unique fish during the day to serve at his seaside sushi restaurant at night. The title was released to extremely high acclaim on PC in June 2023, with a Nintendo Switch version released later that year. It sparked some controversy when it was nominated for the "" award at The Game Awards, however, as Mintrocket is a subsidiary of Nexon, Korea's biggest game company, and would have had more funding than most actual Indie developers.

Those subscribed to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus have two more games to look forward to this month, including day one release Tales of Kenzera: Zau. Sony has established many patterns when it comes to its PlayStation Plus announcement, and so many fans were not expecting to learn about any upcoming PS Plus Extra or Premium games for at least another week or so.

Two new games are being added to the PlayStation Plus lineup for April. Extra and Premium subscribers can snag the Metroidvania Tales of Kenzera: Zau on April 23, while the indie fishing management game Dave the Diver will hit the service on April 16.

Dave The Diver will be added to the PS Plus Extra and Premium game catalogue on its PlayStation launch day of April 16th, Mintrocket has confirmed. Dave The Diver mixes a lot different gameplay elements together from ocean exploration, running a sushi restaurant, seahorse racing, and an anime music rhythm game all mixed together in this pot. There is also a Godzilla DLC coming in May.

Mintrocket’s Dave the Diver is officially out on April 16th for PS4 and PS5 this month, per a new PlayStation Blog post. However, it’s also coming to PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, which means Extra and Premium subscribers can play it for free.

2023 was dominated by a bevy of AAA megatons raking in the plaudits, but there was no shortage of smaller games getting their fair share of the spotlight either. One in particular that captured quite a few hearts was Mintrocket’s fishing adventure game Dave the Diver, which has been enjoying commercial success to match its critical acclaim.

The PC Master Race has been a meme for a good 15 years now, but it’s truer than ever in 2023. A top tier gaming PC might be horrendously expensive when stacked up against a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, but these days it gives you the best of all worlds. Almost.

I think almost every gamer would agree that how a game feels to play is absolutely the most important factor in whether it’s fun or not. Given how many fan-created ‘demakes’ there are of contemporary blockbusters, the proliferation of pixel art (which while it can be pretty is hardly pushing graphical limits), and hilariously shonky nonsense of a game like Vampire Survivors, it’s pretty clear that gameplay is king.

The Nintendo Switch is a console that has already held on longer than the industry average for console lifespans, yet in 2023, there have been numerous titles released for the versatile system that have continued to prove its worth. From the Nintendo mascots of and to lesser-known titles like, Switch owners had a lot to choose from this year. Many of these were also nominated and won various recognitions at The Game Awards 2023.

Two of the best games released this year, Dave the Diver and Dredge, involve fishing. It only makes sense then that they should collaborate. Developer Mintrocket, the studio behind Dave the Diver, has released a new video showcasing the gameplay for its next title—Nakwon: Last Paradise. The video, coming it at over 22 minutes in length, shows off the PvPvE gameplay of the upcoming stealth-based extraction game.

Meet Dave… Dave the Diver .  Dave is a super basic dude who was just trying to enjoy his vacation until his rude friend, Cobra, interrupted his relaxation and insisted he come work a new job in the middle of seemingly nowhere.  Cobra found a spot called the Giant Blue Hole, where there are tons of unique fish and other sea creatures to be found which would make for a great sushi restaurant. 

When sushi-restaurant sim sensation Dave the Diver first hit the scene, I could tell it was a game full of charm. It was also an unfinished game, though, as it received its first wave of acclaim with its initial launch into Early Access. I told myself I’d wait for the full release before I gave the game a shot – making sure my first experience with it was as content rich as possible. In the end Iwaited a bit longer than that, and now the game has even been ported to consoles with a newly minted Nintendo Switch release.

After exiting Steam Early Access for PC earlier this year to extensive praise, Mintrocket’s Dave the Diver is now available on Nintendo Switch. There are three types of crab in Dave the Diver, and two of them are special finds. All three require different strategies, as one is random and the third is a boss.

is a great game. Most people know this by now — it's had overwhelmingly positive player feedback and an impressive review portfolio on top of that. Those who haven't been able to try it on PC but wanted a chance on Switch will find that the game remains great. Veterans who have been into the Blue Hole and back will benefit from the portability of the Switch and, alongside the relatively new content for the game that released earlier this month and low price, it makes sense to re-invest. All around, it's a port that feels right at home on Nintendo Switch.

The studio behind summer hit Dave The Diver has announced its next game — and it’s very different indeed.

MINTROCKET, the developer behind Dave the Diver, has announced their next title, which might not be what you’d expect. NAKWON: LAST PARADISE, according to the developer, is “an ambitious zombie apocalypse stealth-survival game, set in Seoul, in which players must use their wits to avoid detection, loot items, and escape to survive.” The game is a 16-player PvPvE experience and will be available on PC.

There's been a certain amount of confusion and alarm over the announcement of Nakwon: Last Paradise, a dingy third-person zombie survival adventure with a big emphasis on stealth, from the creators of Dave the Diver, a bright, breezy uramaki roll of a game that mixes restaurant management with side-on undersea exploration. Is this kind of like when Prince of Persia went all edgelord with Two Thrones? Do I need to call Mintrocket's parents and ask for an intervention?

Developer Mintrocket, which rose to prominence with the mostly chill summer indie hit Dave the Diver earlier this year, is now working on something completely different in the form of Nakwon: Last Paradise, a PvPvE "extraction survival" game set in a zombie-plagued dystopian future.

How do you follow up a five-star treat like Dave the Diver? With a zombie-themed, 16-player PvPvE stealth-survival extraction game, of course! Developer Mintrocket has just unveiled its next project, titled Nakwon: Last Paradise, and it's about as much a departure from its acclaimed snorkelling-and-sushi-restaurant-management adventure as you can get, dropping players onto the streets of Seoul, right into the middle of the undead apocalypse.

I'm not sure what I imagined would come next from Mintrocket, the studio that brought us the delightful and surprising fishing and restaurant management sim Dave the Diver—but a 16-player PvPvE zombie stealth extraction survival game wouldn't have been it. 

I first sat down to play Dave the Diver expecting a few hours of casual fishing fun. 30 hours of game time later, I’m realizing that Dave the Diver goes much deeper than you’d expect from a $20 title. Its writing is hilarious, its art is simple but gorgeous, and its gameplay scratches my exploring/collecting itch in a way that’s supremely satisfying.

Indie hit Dave the Diver is coming to Nintendo Switch this October.

Indie smash hit Dave the Diver is coming to Nintendo Switch, announced via the September 2023 Direct today. Previously out on PC on June 28 of this year, Nintendo noted that this will be a timed exclusive for Switch, launching on October 26, 2023.

Dave The Diver sees you heading underneath the waves to hunt for various fish and sea life, turning them into delicious sushi dishes as you scramble to run a restaurant by night. While that's a ton to juggle on its own, the game has only just begun to surprise you with its in-depth minigames (Seahorse racing?!), varied characters, and wild plot.

It might seem strange to hear that a fishing and sushi restaurant management game was inspired, in part, by the Metal Gear Solid series. But it makes more sense after you've played Dave the Diver. Sure, you spend a lot of time fishing and serving food, but among other surprises the game also has a few stealth sequences, including one where Dave has to slip past a bunch of armed goons on patrol.

You'd think running a seaside sushi restaurant would be a relaxing, low-stress experience, but despite the chill tropical vibes in Dave the Diver there's also quite a lot of pulse-pounding action. Just because he's working at a vacation destination doesn't mean his life is smooth sailing, and along with reef sharks and angry crabs nipping at his flippered feet, Dave often has to go head-to-head with fearsome boss monsters in the briny depths.
