MINTROCKET, the developer behind Dave the Diver, has announced their next title, which might not be what you’d expect. NAKWON: LAST PARADISE, according to the developer, is “an ambitious zombie apocalypse stealth-survival game, set in Seoul, in which players must use their wits to avoid detection, loot items, and escape to survive.” The game is a 16-player PvPvE experience and will be available on PC.
In this multiplayer survival experience, players will take on the role of survivors while the zombies will be controlled by the game’s AI. Like with other games set in a post-apocalypse, the zombies can be lured from their route or position by making sounds. If the undead enemies see you, they’ll chase after you, so be wary of how and where you’re moving about the environment.
Also like in other zombie-related media, “human beings are the last ones you can trust,” and you must be okay with taking what you need from other players, regardless of what that means for them, according to the game’s page on Steam.
“We wanted to make a real survival game where you have to hide, run away, eat, and survive in a world where Zombies hunt Humans, rather than the other way around,” said director Jang Kyoung Han. “The game’s development started less than a year ago, but getting community feedback is going to be very important to us, and so we’d like to start sharing information early and openly.”
NAKWON: LAST PARADISE is listed on Steam as ‘coming soon,’ and no other information on a potential release date has been made public. MINTROCKET has created a server on Discord for any prospective players to discuss the game and its updates. The developer plans to host a pre-alpha later in 2023.
