@Splat Nice work on the platinum, that can't have been easy. I didn't get anywhere close to it.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is going to be one of those games that keeps on throwing up little secrets and features we had no idea were even in there, what with the world being absolutely massive and letting you discover things for yourself. Just last week, fans finally realized that you can actually use catapults to uncover hidden areas, and this week they've discovered a use for all that rotten meat stinking up your inventory.
If you're one of many Dragon's Dogma 2 players that have stumbled across a pack of wolves, or have been unlucky enough to have a group ambush you while camping, then you know that they're a pain in the neck to deal with. There are loads of them, they're fast, and if you're a big lumbering lion man with a sword bigger than himself, you can struggle to pin them down properly.
There is a very easy way to get them to sit still though, and all you need to do is dump a piece of meat on the ground. First showcased by Twitter user PrizzaaGaming, once a piece of meat has been dropped on the ground next to a pack of wolves, they will immediately stop attacking you to gather around and feast on their meal. It doesn't appear to matter whether the meat is fresh or rotten, and it lines them up easily for a big spell or strike to take them all out in one swift motion. Either that or you can give the good boys their meal and then scarper.
For those of you who played the original Dragon's Dogma, this mechanic will be pretty familiar, as Ogres could be distracted with food in the shape of whole bodies that you could throw at them to distract them. This is obviously on a much smaller scale than that, though someone will have to check whether a dead goblin will serve the same purpose as a piece of rotting meat. Either way, you have a surefire method of dealing with wolves now, and all it costs is that one piece of meat you've been holding onto that's spoiled in your backpack.
In other Dragon’s Dogma 2 news, if you've been waiting for the game's performance to improve somewhat before jumping in, then the wait is over. A new update for the title recently added the option to start a new game, as well as a 30fps frame cap that will hopefully stabilize the game's rather dodgy frame rate.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is about the journey, not the destination. It’s about exploring routes you’ve never taken before, camping in the wilderness, and having an unexpected run in with a Minotaur. Quests objectives are also left intentionally vague, forcing you to puzzle things out and speak to as many people as you can. If you could just easily fast travel to obvious quest markers you could certainly check them off your list more efficiently, but then you’d miss out entirely on the adventure of getting there.

@ApostateMage haha these moments are the best. This is the location I had wandered off to while getting side tracked from everything else. I went in a sorcerer (I think) and came back as a Magick Archer, then switched to thief at Bakbhattal after i'd levelled up to about MA lv5.

@Splat You aren’t really. The game is designed to be played multiple times so if you can’t stumble upon it, theoretically that is what NG+ is for.
