Suicide Squad Season 1 Teaser Image Revealed, Hints At Joker

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has caught a lot of flak for being a live service game already, but developer Rocksteady Studios has nonetheless made plenty of promises about consistent post-launch support over the months following the game’s release. Of course, like any live service game, each season of content will also bring a new battle pass for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and in a recent Q&A over on the game’s official Discord channel (via MP1st), studio director Darius Sadeghian recently revealed new details on what to expect from the game on that front.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's PS5 file size is 45 GB. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set within the same universe as the Batman: Arkham games, placing players in the shoes of Task Force X as they face off against some of the DC Universe's most powerful superheroes. Unlike Rocksteady's Batman games, Suicide Squad is a co-op multiplayer adventure that also features some live service elements.

Although the Joker fatally succumbed to Titan poisoning at the end of 2011’s Batman: Arkham City, there were rumors that Rocksteady was planning to bring the cackling fiend back in some way in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s post-launch DLC.

Games and DC Comics have treated fans to an exhilarating glimpse into the upcoming third-person action-shooter, “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” through the recently released third and final episode of the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Insider video series. This installment sheds light on the game’s post-launch content, promising an immersive experience for players eager to extend their adventure beyond the main storyline.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is finally out next week after a lengthy delay from last year. Deluxe Edition players will receive early access, and in some new tweets, Rocksteady confirmed it would be available on January 29th, 9 PM PT (or January 30th at your local midnight time) on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. On Steam, it goes live on January 30th, 10 AM PT.

Officially, Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League comes out on February 2nd, the same day that another big title arrives from Atlus. But a few days before, on January 30th, a special “early access” period will start for certain gamers to get into the title beforehand. These dates would excite players if they were hyped for the title. But, currently, the hype for the next game by Rocksteady Studios is “mixed” at best. An easy counter to this “mixed hype” would be to see how the reviews turn out and if critics can sway some of them to the developers’ side. Yet, if reports are to be believed, there’s a problem on that end.

Though it hasn’t made its way onto Destructoid’s list of most hotly anticipated titles of 2024, Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League sure as heck is coming. Due to release on February 2, Suicide Squad is also getting a suite of post-launch content, in true live-service fashion.

As Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League nears its launch, developer Rocksteady has confirmed that the game's post-launch DLC will bring iconic DC villain Joker as a playable character. The studio made the announcement Monday in the third episode of its Suicide Squad Insider developer diary series, detailing its plans for delivering free post-launch seasonal content to players who buy the game, multiversal concepts and a few multiplayer features that will be present at launch. According to Rocksteady, each post-launch season will feature two episodes and will follow the theme of a DC villain, bringing new ways to play. The new announcement follows the developers teasing hundreds of character builds and distinct loadouts earlier this month.

As announced during Rocksteady's latest Suicide Squad Insider video on YouTube, it was announced that The Joker would be the next member to join the suicide squad when the first season rolls in March. 

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is going to be “one of the most generous , player friendly post launch experiences available” according to a new video from Rocksteady. Each season will include two new episodes that focus on a specific character from the DC Universe, automatically dropped in to the game and, according to the video, it’s not locked behind a battle pass.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is only a couple of weeks away, and Rocksteady is attempting to get everyone excited with yet another video from its YouTube series, Suicide Squad Insider. This time, Rocksteady went deeper into the game's customization options and post-launch content, finally confirming after several teases and hints that The Joker is being added in Season 1 as a playable character.

Rocksteady is planning to release new seasons of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with free content themed around a different DC character, each incorporating "alternate realities" in the form of Elseworlds.
