Last week, the Batman: Arkham trilogy zipped onto the Nintendo Switch at long last, bringing Kevin Conroy's turn as the iconic Dark Knight to the world of handheld. There is one extra addition to the game, with, with Warner Bros. Games adding a tribute in his memory to the end credits. following his passing in November 2022.
"I just beat Arkham City on Switch and the credits man," @R0ninYT tweeted. "In memory of Kevin Conroy... right in the feels. Rest in peace Mr. Conroy, you were and always will be Batman".
Conroy not only voiced Batman in the Arkham games, but also in several of the animated films, The Animated Series, Injustice, Scooby-Doo, and MultiVersus.
Seeing the new tribute, one fan tagged developer Rocksteady to ask for the memorial to be added to other ports beyond the Switch. "Please add this to the other platforms," @Reincarnated93 said. "We miss our only real Batman that was Kevin Conroy".
The discovery was also shared by GamingBible editor Ewan Moore last night, with a full screenshot attached of the credits which you can see above. Once you beat the game, you'll now see a striking black-and-white silhouette of Gotham City adorned by golden lettering that says, "In memory of Kevin Conroy". While Moore took this picture from Asylum, others report seeing it in City as well.
Tributes immediately poured in after Conroy passed away at the age of 66 following a "short battle with cancer". Joker actor Mark Hamill, who also said that he will be stepping down from the role amidst Conroy's passing, said, "Kevin's warm heart, delightfully deep laugh, and pure love of life will be with me forever. Kevin was perfection. He was one of my favourite people on the planet and I loved him like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him."
His decency shone through everything he did. Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my spirits were elevated. Kevin was a brilliant actor. For several generations, he has been the definitive Batman.
If you roll credits on the Arkham games on Switch, you'll find the message commemorating his life as Batman, but we still have Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to look forward to, marking Conroy's final performance as the World's Greatest Detective.

For a lot of people, including myself, Kevin Conroy was the Batman. A lot of you might've known him from the Arkham Trilogy—I myself was first introduced to him via Justice League: Unlimited. He was the voice of Batman for over three decades before he died after a short battle with cancer in November last year, age 66. As spotted by Eurogamer, a tribute has been added to the Batman: Arkham Trilogy, though it's only presently confirmed to be on the Nintendo Switch version. Batman Arkham Knight and embarrassing ports are terms that seem to go hand in hand, as those who played the PC version of the game at launch know well, but it seems like the final entry in the series by Rocksteady reached a new low with the recently released Nintendo Switch port.
Even though it's a pretty great game, Batman: Arkham Knight has a very rough history when it comes to its performance. It ran so badly on PC back at launch that developer Rocksteady Studios had to delist the title to fix the issues and apologize to fans for its release. Fast-forward over eight years, and it seems as though Rocksteady hasn't learned its lesson, as Arkham Knight is reportedly "unplayable" on the Nintendo Switch.
