Batman: Arkham Trilogy delayed to December 1

Voice acting in video games has grown leaps and bounds over the years. At first, it was a “luxury” to have voice acting in video games. Then, it was something you did, but you didn’t always need the “best voice actors” to get the job done. Fast forward to now, and you are almost required to have top-notch voice acting and potentially bring in A-List actors to be certain characters to add clout to the game. In the case of the Batman Arkham Trilogy, they had numerous voice acting talents, making the game emphatically good. But few will deny that one of the best of the bunch was Mark Hamill as The Joker.

One of the most celebrated actors to portray The Joker across all media is actor Mark Hamill. First taking on the role in 1992's Batman: The Animated Series, he quickly became a fan-favorite for his raucous yet still chilling take on the character, serving as a great foil to late Batman actor Kevin Conroy in the classic show and the subsequent animated movies and video games in the decades that followed.

Free Range Games’ The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will launch on October 24th for PC. Unfortunately, the PS5 version has been delayed to December 5th, both digitally and physically.

Publisher North Beach Games and developer Free Range Games have delayed the PlayStation 5 version of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria from its previously planned October 24 release date to December 5, and it will now both physically and digitally on the same date. Additionally, the PC version, which will launch via Epic Games Store on October 24, has gone gold. The Xbox Series version is still planned for release in early 2024. The game will cost $39.99 / €35.99.

Rocksteady Studios has been quiet on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League since its delay earlier this year. A recent leak from a Redditor (verified by a mod) alleged new details on the Deluxe and Day One Edition in addition to one year of post-launch support. They reportedly saw a new “not final” trailer at a recent trade show, stating that the game has real-time weather and a day/night cycle.

When it comes to genres, there will always be a set of titles that stand above the rest. The ones that everyone looks to and go, “That’s the best of the best!” Every genre has it, and for the superhero genre, that title used to be something that no one could really claim. After all, while superheroes have been popular in gaming since the early console days, their quality was always debatable. However, when Batman Arkham City came out, everything changed. Fast forward to 2023, and one review says Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the new standard bearer for the superhero genre.

Publisher Skydance Interactive and developer Endeavor One have delayed Arashi: Castles of Sin – Final Cut from its previously planned November 16 release date to December 5. It will be available for PlayStation VR2 via PlayStation Store, PC via Steam, and Quest 2 and Quest 3 via Oculus Store.

Publisher Chorus Worldwide and developer LCB Game Studio have delayed interactive adventure game Bahnsen Knights from its previously planned October 26 release date to December 14. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam.

Originally scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch on October 13, Batman: Arkham Trilogy has been pushed back two months. Now, the collection is set to launch on December 1 as confirmed by a Tweet from the official Batman: Arkham Trilogy page. 

If you really, really wanted to take a gamble on whether or not the Batman: Arkham games would be optimized for the Switch when the set of newly-announced trilogy ports arrives later this year, it looks like you’ll be waiting a bit longer for it. WB has announced that the Batman: Arkham Trilogy pack has been shifted out of its original October 13 window (which was right around the corner!) and is now set for December.

Though most of this year’s titles were released on time without much hassle, there are still some delays. For instance, Warner Bros. Games’ Batman: Arkham Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch. Set to release on October 13th, the publisher has announced a sudden delay to December 1st.

Earlier this year, developer Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Games revealed that it was bringing its Batman: Arkham trilogy to the Switch this fall. This collection does not include Batman: Arkham Origins (a great game), which was developed by Gotham Knights studio Warner Bros. Games Montreal. The Batman: Arkham Trilogy, as the Switch collection is called, was due out this month on October 13 but has now been delayed to December.
