Microids has announced The Smurfs: Dreams, another 3D platformer starring the small Belgian blue folks. Coming to both PS5 and PS4 later this year, the game is giving off strong Super Mario 3D World/Sackboy: A Big Adventure energy, as you can see in the announcement trailer above.

A new cooperative 3D platformer based on The Smurfs media franchise will come to Sony's PS4 and PS5 consoles in 2024. A number of games based on the beloved property have been released in recent years.

A stunningly accurate cosplay has received developer Larian Studios' seal of approval. After years in Early Access on PC, Larian's RPG was released last year to incredibly high critical acclaim, going on to win many Game of the Year awards and even making its way onto Screen Rant's "" list.

Baldur's Gate 3 team Larian Studios has confirmed it has two new games in the works as it looks to moves on from the Baldur's Gate IP. Having put together one of the greatest RPGs in a generation last year, the Belgian developer won't be making any new narrative content for the third iteration or creating a Baldur's Gate 4. Instead, it's two brand new games, which CEO Swen Vincke is calling the studio's «best work ever».

Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke recently discussed various topics in an interview published by GamesIndustry. The director of Baldur's Gate 3 talked about avoiding overlap with Bethesda's Starfield (Larian's game launched in early August on PC, while Starfield was released in early September) and his respect for the studio.

Despite reportedly underperforming in sales, The Lost Crown was praised for its Metroidvania gameplay that blended platforming, combat, and puzzle-solving.

Following its well-received Prince of Persia revival early this year, Ubisoft is reportedly readying a further series outing for a 2024 release — this time in the form of a Prince of Persia rogue-like from Evil Empire, the studio responsible for Dead Cells' impressive post-launch support.

After what felt like an eternity, the Prince of Persia franchise finally has life in it again. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown released later this year (with DLC also being in the works), while Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is also in development- and it seems Ubisoft’s plans for the franchise entail more than just those two.

It seems like Prince of Persia games are just like buses - you wait ages for one and then two show up at the same time. Less than three months after the release of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, it's being reported that Ubisoft plans on releasing another Prince of Persia game later this year, this time a roguelite developed by the studio behind the DLC for hit indie title Dead Cells, Evil Empire.

Having had a few days to sit with the news that Larian Studios, creators of 2023's breakout RPG, Baldur's Gate 3, has scrapped plans for DLC and will not be developing the inevitable next game in the series, we can't help but feel the move was a deeply-baller one. Going out on the highest possible note, outdoing even BioWare's iconic earlier entries, it's time to move on for Larian, and we'll gladly follow. Parent company Hasbro, however, wasted no time, threatening still-in-shock audiences that more D&D games are on the way: «Watch this space.»

Modern art puzzler Please, Touch The Artwork was a bit of a surprise hit when it came out in 2022. It not only poked fun at the reverential distance enforced on us by stuffy old art galleries, but it also invited us to recreate abstract modern masterworks by clicking, tracing and generally getting up close and personal with them with our big, colourful in-game fingers. Now, solo developer Thomas Waterzooi is back with Please, Touch The Artwork 2, which takes us on a slightly different journey through the art world as a hidden object point and click game. It's out today, is completely free, and was made to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the death of the Belgian expressionist and surrealist painter James Ensor.

Larian Studios is planning to open a new company branch in Poland, according to a recent report. The purported expansion could be a result of the incredible success of Baldur's Gate 3, which propelled Larian Studios to new heights following its August 2023 release.

 Baldur's Gate 3, last year's most critically acclaimed video game, has brought in about $90 million since its August release for parent company Hasbro Inc. through a licensing deal.

A career-crowning achievement as monumental as Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t come out of nowhere. From Divinity to Dungeons & Dragons, Larian Studios has long been one of the loudest advocates for rich storytelling and true, meaningful freedom in Western RPGs.

Apple plans to introduce significant changes to the iOS App Store, allowing users to download apps from third-party sources. The company is reaching a deadline imposed by the EU under the Digital Markets Act, which requires the company to allow the installation of apps from outside the App Store. The company has until March 6 to implement the app sideloading, and iOS 17.4 appears to be the update that will bring the necessary changes.

I’m just as content to know whodunit from the very start, as long as the novel itself has enjoyable pacing and character writing.

I haven't checked in on Microsoft Flight Simulator for a while, but the aviation 'em up hasn't missed a beat. Last month it received World Update 15, continuing increase the detail of its global landscape with a visit to Greenland and the Nordics. Now Asobo have released City Update 5: European Cities 1, which brings a similar pass of polish to five "exemplary urban regions".

Ah, MultiVersus. By all accounts, it was a genuinely solid platform fighter with an all-star cast, torn away from us too soon. It was only an «open beta!» What do you mean there were seasons with battle passes? That's normal for an open beta. To test battle passes you could buy with real money. This sudden Wile E. Coyote bait-and-switch hit diehard fans like a painted cliff, especially since platform fighters on the PC have never really had their 'Smash Bros.' moment. There's plenty of decent ones, sure. Brawlhalla, Rivals of Aether, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2—but nothing ever quite captured a community in the same way as Nintendo's juggernaut. But MulitVersus felt like a real contender. The Warner Bros. portfolio is massive, and for a beautiful second, it seemed like we'd live in a world where Saul Goodman could spike the Iron Giant. Well, there might be hope on the horizon—though there's a thin line between hope and cope. As spotted by The Gamer, a Belgian McDonald's promotional sticker made the rounds on Twitter last week.

The work Belgian developer Larian Studios has put into getting the Xbox Series S version of Baldur's Gate 3 up to snuff will result in performance improvements for all the platforms the RPG is available on, including PS5. The upgrades will arrive as part of the game's fifth major patch, which is expected to go live this week — more details will be shared later today along with confirmation of new features.

The one-man studio Waterzooi has announced the release of Please, Touch The Artwork 2 on the Apple Store, Google Play, and Steam. Thomas Waterzooi’s inspiration comes from art, culture, society, and humanity. His light-hearted games take the focus away from high scores and place it on the way we experience the story. EA has released stats about the performance of FC 24 in its first 24 days since launch, releasing a whole host of stats. EA has stated that players in over 200 countries are playing EA Sport FC 24, with over 1.6 billion matches played and over 4.1 billion goals scored since launch day. The addition of women to Ultimate Team has been successful too with over 739 million women players being used in squads.

Sony has announced that PS5 cloud streaming for PlayStation Plus Premium goes live on October 17th in Japan, October 23rd in Europe and October 30th in North America. Two months after PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers began receiving invites to a PlayStation 5 cloud streaming beta, Sony has announced the feature will be getting its full launch on on 23rd October in Europe and 30th October in the US.

PlayStation 5 cloud streaming for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will launch on October 17 in Japan, October 23 in Europe, and October 30 in North America, allowing users to play PlayStation 5 games without having to download them, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced.
