Helldivers, additional help is on the way in the form of the Democratic Detonation Warbond, which comes loaded with the latest peace-keeping/pacification implements imported fresh from the forges of Super Earth, along with all-new armour sets. It drops next week, on 11th April.

At GDC 2024, Canadian developer Piranha Games showcased new info and footage of MechWarrior 5: Clans, a standalone game and the first in a very long time to be narrative-focused in this franchise. As suggested by the game's title, this will be a Clan Invasion story (the first since 1995's MechWarrior 2), diving into the period that changed the politics of the Inner Sphere for good. According to the developers, this will be an ideal entry point for series newcomers, too.

I got a lot of backlash following my Helldivers 2 review from many fanboys. Undeniably, this game took over the cultural zeitgeist for a while and is still one of the best sellers on Steam. In my review, I pointed out many of the game's problems, such as the server issues, the incredibly awful balancing, and the glitches and bugs it has. I capped things off by giving the game a 6/10, a score that I gave to another lacking live service of the same caliber: Payday 3.

Your character's core stats in can be upgraded when you collect and use Treatises or special books you can get from a variety of places. Reading Treatises will give you a point in a certain skill, allowing you to steadily get stronger. While you will find many of these items exploring different regions, there are other ways to earn Treatises as you continue through the story.

The latest update for Helldivers 2 is here, and it ought to shake up the game in a fairly significant way. The big news is that the level cap is increasing from 50 all the way to 150. Meanwhile, Arrowhead Studios have also added a couple of new planetary hazards (blizzards and sandstorms), rebalanced a long list of weapons, tweaked the specifics of how certain missions work, and more.

The rarest currency you can farm in is Silver Coins, a special type of money used to buy some of the best gear in the game. Unlike common Sen currency, Silver doesn't come from discarding old items, but rather from completing specific tasks in a region. Rooster Teeth may have been shuttered by Warner Bros. a few weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean that Red vs. Blue is going away. Dragon's Dogma 2 has been out and in players' hands for almost a week now, and it's fair to say that although it launched to incredibly positive critic reviews, certain elements haven't been received fantastically by the fanbase. The action-RPG was immediately hit with backlash for its microtransactions, and plenty of people have been left frustrated by the deadly Dragonsplague mechanic, too.

Like a combination Taco Bell/KFC, Outpost: Infinity Siege is trying to be a suspicious number of things at once. But while this ambitious and absurdly complicated multiplayer first-person-shooter-real-time-strategy-tower-defense game is absolutely covered in a thick layer of jank, it defies the odds by actually being pretty darn competent at most of the things it attempts. Sure, the story is laughably bad, the voice performances gave me a full-body cringe, and there’s so much grinding and RNG that you’ll be seeing the same levels way too often. But all of those complaints stand in stark contrast to the numerous ways Infinity Siege knocks it out of the park, and as a result I’m still having a lot of fun leveling up my base and facing off against hordes of robotic scorpions after more than 60 hours. The FPS combat is smooth and satisfying, the real-time strategy offers a ton of room for scheming, and the tower defense mechanics delightfully allow you to take on entire armies from atop a fortress of gunfire. Outpost: Infinity Siege might bite off way more than it can chew, but, also like a combination Taco Bell/KFC, it often delivers exactly what you’re looking for.

One of the key missions to help prove you’re the true Arisen in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to figure out the real identity of the false Sovran. One clue you have as to figuring this out is hidden in the Nameless Village, though not all is as it seems there. The first step will be, of course, reaching this unassuming little town. While 2019 feels like a lifetime ago to me now, thanks to a time-warping pandemic, I still vividly remember playing Void Bastards for the first time. The expanded open world of Rise of the Ronin is so big that not even a trusty horse and fast travel systemare quite enough to make traversal as fun and fast as needed. While it might seem a little fantastical, you won’t complain about the inclusion of a glider once you get your hands on it and feel how freeing it is to soar above the rooftops and countryside. This has been a heavily marketed mechanic, and yet you can miss your first chance to get it if you don’t explore a little before moving on with the main quest.
