Lego Fortnite has been going from strength to strength since launch, adding new features and mechanics that allow players to show off their creative sides in more ways than ever. That's pretty impressive considering people were building Star Destroyers and airships not long after launch, but the latest update titled "Mechanical Mayhem" is letting players tinker with new tools to create a wider range of vehicles.

The development of LEGO Fortnite has been fascinating to observe. While it launched in a stable and fulfilling state, Epic Games has been gradually iterating on the outing, adding fishing earlier in the year. Now it’s preparing its next major update, scheduled to deploy on 26th March: Mechanical Mayhem, which brings a trio of vehicle builds to the outing.

A new video promoting the Sonic and Lego collaboration is full of inside jokes for fans and even makes fun of some of the more eccentric types in the community. In the video, the camera keeps cutting to a fake livestream chat full of Sonic fans, and their messages reference everything from dissatisfaction with the games to the desire for a Big the Cat body pillow.

The April 2024 Crew Pack arrives on the 31st of March, introducing exclusive character cosmetics and other benefits for subscribers. This month, subscribers will receive the mighty god of war Ares as an exclusive character Outfit, along with some additional themed cosmetics. Other benefits such as free V-Bucks and Battle Pass access round out a great offering for hardcore fans.

By sheer coincidence, today marks exactly 11 years since BioShock Infinite was released. It was by all accounts a masterpiece – a worthy follow-up to 2007's landmark narrative-driven first-person shooter BioShock. But after two excellent DLC episodes were released, creative director Ken Levine resigned and parent company Take-Two closed Irrational Games. Levine started a new, smaller studio for Take-Two called Campfire Games, later renamed to Ghost Story Games. And then everything went quiet, with Levine rarely speaking publicly outside of a GDC talk about "narrative LEGOs" in 2014.

Another week, another Fortnite update. Like death and taxes (but a lot more fun), one of the certainties in life is that Epic Games is always tinkering away behind the scenes and adding new content to Fortnite.

LEGO Fortnite is getting updated with version 29.10, which has been named Mechanical Mayhem. This new update is bringing vehicles to the game, including three free vehicle builds. Those are the Speeder, the Offroader, and the Hauler. Players will also be able to build their own customised vehicles, and there will be new toys too such as wheels, seats and power centers. A new item called the Compost Bin is being added, which will allow resources to be recycled to create Biomass, Fertilizer, or Soil. Biomass will need to be used to create Power Cells.

Dungeons & Dragons turns 50 this year, and more and more crossovers are being announced to mark the occasion. We already know the iconic roleplaying game will get its first Lego set next month, and now we know D&D will be crossing over with Converse too. The collection includes sneakers, t-shirts, and trucker hats, and D&D elements will even be added to Converse By You meaning you can use them to make your very own D&D-themed footwear.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is one of the biggest Lego games ever made. Along with giving you access to hundreds of playable characters, you'll get to work your way through key moments from across the nine Skywalker saga films — each brought to life with a new dose of Lego-inspired humor. It'll take dozens of hours to unlock everything it has to offer, and there's no denying the journey is much more enjoyable with a friend.

Unreal Editor for Fortnite has received new assets that allow enthusiasts to make their own LEGO Creative Islands. Their arrival has been accompanied by the release of three additional LEGO Islands in Fortnite.

One of PS Plus’ less publicised perks are the bonuses it adds for free-to-play games, and members to all tiers of Sony’s subscription service can grab a pretty nifty free Fortnite pack from today. The Blazin’ Wheels Pack includes the Lina Scorch Outfit with a LEGO variant, as well as a pretty cool Gas Up Back Bling. Once redeemed, all items will be added to your Locker free-of-charge.

Dungeons and Dragons is getting a new LEGO set this spring. The newly unveiled product, meant to help commemorate the 50th anniversary of the celebrated tabletop game, originated from LEGO's massively successful crowdsourcing platform.

Lego has been teasing a team-up to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons for the past month, starting with its gelatinous cube teaser with various D&D items turned into Lego inside it. Now we know exactly what the first collaboration between the two massive brands is going to look like. Lego has revealed its Red Dragon's Tale set, and there's not long to wait until you can center your very own game night around it, particularly if you're a Lego Insider.

LEGO has officially revealed an upcoming set for the 50th anniversary of the tabletop RPG, and it packs a lot of iconic elements into one design. The origins of the model come from a LEGO Ideas contest held in 2022, which picked one fan design as the winner to be produced as an actual set. Although the concept has undergone some revisions by official LEGO designers, the overall size, structure, and ideas of the contest winner all make it into the final product.

Following a number of rumors and an eventual leak, Lego has revealed its first collaboration with Dungeons & Dragons: a new set inspired by the classic tabletop game, just in time for its 50th anniversary. Officially titled the Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale, Lego Insiders can pre-order the $359.99 set starting April 1 exclusively from the Lego Store, while everyone else can roll for initiative beginning April 4. Pre-orders placed before April 7 will also receive a complementary Lego Dungeons & Dragons Mimic Dice Box.

An incredibly creative fan of Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake 2 has made a LEGO version of the game's highly memorable We Sing musical sequence. Having been released in October 2023, Alan Wake 2 was able to stand out in a year filled with incredible gaming experiences. The popular sequel later went on to earn eight nominations at the 2023 Game Awards, including one for Game of the Year, and won Best Narrative, Game Direction, and Art Direction.

LEGO 2K Drive Update 5 is now available for download across all platforms. This release expands Visual Concepts' arcade racer with quite a few additions, including a new biome, game modes, and a variety of improvements spanning nearly every aspect of LEGO 2K Drive.

On Wednesday, Sony unveiled the latest catalog of games for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. The latest batch of titles includes the Resident Evil 3 remake, Marvel’s Midnight Suns and NBA 2K24 (among others). You can play the games for free starting on Tuesday, March 19.

UEFN allows players to create their own custom game modes in, and LEGO have used it to create their own custom experiences. LEGO Obby Fun features challenging obstacle courses while LEGO Raft Survival challenges players to set sail, build rafts, and survive an onslaught of pirates on the high seas.

The fishing update to Lego Fortnite added, you guessed it, the ability to fish once you’ve made yourself a rod. Of course, since fish didn’t exist in the game before this, an entire school of undersea life needed to be created. Every fish you can catch has a different benefit, from restoring a bunch of health when you eat it to giving you some kind of buff. The rarest and most useful fish is certainly the Vendetta Flopper, making it the most coveted catch in the game. While fishing is still heavily dependent on luck, you won’t even have a chance at this fish unless you know where to cast your line.

Technically, all you need to get started fishing in Lego Fortnite is a fishing rod and a body of water. As any great fisherman will tell you, though, the key to catching the rarest fish lies in your bait. The same applies here, but how you go about collecting said bait is a little obscure. The Bait Bucket is essential if you want to taste all the best fish in the game, so here's how to make this big bucket of chum.

No survival game is complete without the ability to fish, which was why it was so odd that Lego Fortnite launched without this option. Thankfully, that has been rectified in an update, and we finally have a use for all those large bodies of water around the world. Games handle fishing in a few ways, but in this case, you just need to get yourself a rod and set up near some water to collect all the fish you can cook and eat. The survival crafting game genre is in the middle of a renaissance. Players have been drawn to mainstays like Minecraft and Terreria for well over a decade at this point, but the last couple of months have seen plenty of new contenders enter the market. Details about four potential new Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO sets have been leaked online, which are slated to come out later this summer and fall. Sega and LEGO have partnered previously to create elaborate LEGO sets based on Sonic the Hedgehog, the first of these being released at the beginning of 2022. In addition, 2023 saw five new Sonic LEGO sets launched, which featured Sonic, Tails, and Amy.

Popular rumors based on a new leak suggest that fans of The Legend of Zelda franchise could see the series receive its own official LEGO set later on this year. While there are few known details regarding this potential LEGO collaboration, talk of LEGO sets featuring The Legend of Zelda franchise has persisted for many years now, with such discussion becoming much more widespread following a batch of related rumors which began around this time last year.

The long-rumoured Great Deku Tree Lego set will reportedly be released later this year.
