Overwatch 2 has unveiled the 12 heroes who will have their abilities remixed for the new limited-time Mirrorwatch mode. Season 10 of Overwatch 2 has recently begun, adding the first new DPS hero since Sojourn, Venture, a drill-wielding excavator who can burrow underground and pop out from under opponents for big damage. The tenth season also made all previous mythic hero skins available in the in-game shop and lets players test out the new Clash game mode on its dedicated Hanaoka map.

XDefiant, Ubisoft's Call of Duty rival, has finally revealed its new release date of May 21. When it was first revealed in 2021, XDefiant was met with confusion and criticism from Ubisoft fans. Since then, after several playtest periods and a beta last summer, sentiment surrounding the FPS improved, as it featured sound gunplay and engaging combat, though it ultimately wasn't as polished as Call of Duty. Despite the positive response, the title was hit with several more delays, one in October and another this past March, leaving the fate of the game up in the air.

A third entry in Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi series seems to have been confirmed by a job listing looking for a Senior Game Writer. After several years of fumbling its exclusive Star Wars license with the Battlefront games, Respawn Entertainment's third-person action Soulslike Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order pleasantly surprised fans in 2019. Its follow-up, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, was released about a year ago to rave reviews despite its rocky technical launch and performance issues, which have since been fixed. Survivor's impeccable storytelling, intricate level design, and challenging lightsaber combat boosted it into the conversation of 2023's best games.

Dead Island 2 has announced the exact date and times it's set to launch on Steam across the world. The zombie-mashing action adventure game was released on Xbox, PlayStation, and Epic Games Store almost exactly a year ago, unfortunately skipping out on Steam users. Despite its long and troubled 9-year development cycle across three different studios, Dead Island 2 released to positive reception, as it provides ample first-person melee action fun in incredibly vivid and iconic zombie-torn Los Angeles environments.

Eivor's Raven Clan outfit from Assassin's Creed Valhalla has become available for Assassin's Creed Mirage players to redeem and equip with Basim. Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which was released back in 2020, was Ubisoft's latest large-scaled RPG-style Assassin's Creed game. Set during the Viking age of Anglo-Saxon England, Valhalla introduced a new assassin, named Eivor, who was part of the Raven Clan.

Don't Nod Entertainment has revealed all the changes coming to Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden with its latest 1.4 update, which includes fixes to combat, quests, photo mode and more. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is one of developer Don't Nod Entertainment's more AAA-style projects, similar to its 2018 outing, Vampyr. One of 2023's best indie games, Planet of Lana, is coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch almost a full year after its initial release. The official reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 rocked the gaming world when it debuted in December 2023, garnering millions of views in mere hours and skyrocketing Rockstar Games' YouTube channel subscriber count to 10 million. One Starfield modder has blended Bethesda's space-faring RPG with another mega-popular sci-fi franchise, Star Wars, by adding Greedo to the game as a companion. Since its September launch, Starfield has seen a large community of modders creating an array of interesting and useful mods. Some of these mods aim to improve some of Starfield's shortcomings, like adding ammo crafting and a planet resource database. Others add cool crossovers to the game, such as Halo's Master Chief armor or a variety of aliens from the Star Wars universe.

The next title in Ubisoft's long-running Assassin's Creed franchise seems to have had a version of its main menu leaked online. Assassin's Creed Red will see the series set foot in ancient Japan for the very first time, something fans have been wishing for Ubisoft to do for years. Red will also kick off Assassin's Creed Infinity, a sort of hub which will house several large Assassin's Creed games for years to come. Fans seem to be split on Ubisoft's decision to have a Call of Duty HQ-esque structure for a series of single-player experiences, and it's still not clear what exactly Assassin's Creed Infinity will entail.

A developer at the Cyberpunk 2077 studio, CD Projekt Red, has playfully mocked Ubisoft's use of the term «Quadruple-A» to describe its latest release, Skull and Bones.
