There are three types of items in ; Reagents, Greeneries, and Indulgences. Reagents and Greeneries are ingredients that Melinoë can use in the Cauldron. Found at the Crossroads, the Cauldron lets Melinoë craft Incantations; special spells that unlock important tools, resources, or areas for Melinoë.

As many an indie-game developer has already attested – Hades II’s stealth launch into Early Access caught a lot of people off-guard. But then why not start as you mean to go on? After all, surprise is one of the most important ingredients of a Roguelike. And when you’re making a sequel, springing such shocks becomes that bit harder. 

Since Hades II launched in Early Access just over a week ago, developer Supergiant Games has been collecting feedback from players. Now, some of that feedback has been put to use in the game's first patch, and there are still more adjustments on their way.

Greek god pulverizing simulator Hades 2 is getting its first patch "later this month", say the developers. Two things are on their to-tweak list. First, something might change about the way resource gathering tools are used (the pickaxe you use to mine silver during a run, for example). Second, and perhaps more significant, is an upcoming change to the way Melinoë's dash and sprint work. We don't know exactly what that change is but, according to Supergiant, it has something to do with your witchy batterer's "distinct style".

The Rogue Prince of Persia will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on May 27, publisher Ubisoft and developer Evil Empire announced.

Evil Empire has announced a new Steam Early Access release date for The Rogue Prince of Persia, having nudged the game’s preview release back in the wake of Hades II’s own Early Access release. The Rogue Prince of Persia will now head into Steam Early Access on 27th May.

Hades II is now available in Early Access for PC players. After performing a technical test from April 16 to 29, Supergiant Games said Early Access for the “bewitching sequel” would follow “relatively soon after.” The developer lived up to its word, as a week after wrapping the preliminary test, PC players can now buy and play the highly anticipated roguelike title for $30.

Anticipated roguelike sequel Hades II was announced back in 2022, and we knew an early access launch was coming sometime in mid-2024, but a specific release date hadn’t been provided by developer Supergiant Games. Hades 2 developer Supergiant Games has signaled the end of the game’s technical test and early access launch soon afterwards.

Supergiant Games’ technical test for Hades 2 will be coming to an end on April 29th. As promised, it went on for longer than a week and less than a month, but appears to have been successful. The team has identified and addressed “a number of key issues we weren’t able to find before.” After it ends, early access will launch “relatively soon” after.

Supergiant Games just treated Hades fans to an extensive look at the game's upcoming sequel. Seriously — the developer hosted a three-hour livestream that showed off Hades II's gameplay, new features and mechanics, as well as the new designs for its characters based on the gods of Greek mythology. Supergiant's Creative Director Greg Kasavin and Studio Director Amir Rao demonstrated the abilities of the game's new protagonist, Melinoë. While she's the sister of Zagreus, the first title's protagonist, and Hades II is a direct sequel to the original, Kasavin and Rao said players don't need to have prior knowledge of the first game and of Greek mythology to enjoy it. Old fans, however, will catch «delightful references» here and there.

The technical test for Hades 2has barely begun, but first-looks at the game have already set feeds on fire. Supergiant Games released a version of the game to a limited number of players on Wednesday. But instead of keeping details of those playthroughs under wraps, the developers busted the doors to its mythical underworld wide open and streamed roughly three hours of gameplay on its official YouTube channel. Now, everyone has gotten their first big look at the game and social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) have become the worshipping grounds for all of the game’s sexy Greek gods.

There are plenty of developers you can trust to make an incredible game, given their talent and the skills they have shown off repeatedly. Supermassive Games is one such developer. They have a string of titles they have showcased their talents on, and one of them will be getting a sequel next year via Hades II. The Greek Mythology-inspired series made a big splash when it was initially released and was a Game of the Year contender/winner thanks to its incredible replay value and content. Supergiant have announced that Hades 2 - sequel to one of gaming's smoothest and sexiest underworld capers - will release into Early Access in Q2 2024 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It'll drop with at least as much stuff to do, hack apart, loot, fanship, etcetera as the original Hades, and will be preceded by a limited access technical test.

Following the announcement of Hades II at last year's The Game Awards event, Supergiant Games told fans to wait for further instructions on the game's release at some point in 2023.

Supergiant Games, the company behind Hades and Bastion, has revealed that it will launch Hades II into Early Access in the second quarter of 2024 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The company stopped short of revealing a concrete date, though. 

More details will come closer to the early access launch.

It’s been a long nine months since Supergiant Games announced Hades 2, the sequel to Polygon’s 2020 Game of the Year Hades. On Thursday, the developer finally broke its silence and offered an update on the game: Hades 2 will release in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store in Q2 of 2024, somewhere between April and June of next year.

Hades 2 has an early access release window, and we'll be heading into the underworld again starting from Q2 2024.
