Enormous asymmetrical horror outing Dead by Daylight is showing no signs of slowing, with its eighth anniversary ushering in some enormous collaborations. Dungeons & Dragons is the latest intellectual property to invade the series, with an upcoming expansion adding iconic villain Vecna as a new Killer and a Bard as a Survivor. Konami’s Castlevania will also infiltrate the series later in the year, although details are being kept under wraps for now.

As the Formula 1 circus heads to Imola this weekend, there’s a mixture of excitement and sombre remembrance. Are Red Bull on the back foot again? Will Ferrari and Mercedes’ upgrade packages slingshot them to the front? And was McLaren’s win last time out a flash in the pan or can they keep fighting for the top step?

Remember when Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive announced a new PvE multiplayer game with Midwinter Entertainment? Dead by Daylight is turning eight years old, and Montreal-based series creators Behaviour Interactive had certainly a lot to announce during their big anniversary broadcast. Plenty of new detail was provided about the new Dungeons & Dragons update, although we also learned that a Castlevania chapter is on the way later this year. Players can also look forward to the introduction of a mode with two killers instead of the usual one.

Dead by Daylight is a game absolutely packed with murderous monsters, both original and licensed from other franchises. The next crossover is a little bit outside of the usual horror wheelhouse — Dead by Daylight is producing a chapter themed around the wildly popular tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons. Vecna, known in-game as The Lich, will be the game’s next Killer. Vecna is joined by a pair of Elven bards, one male and one female, who will serve as the new Survivors.

Behaviour Interactive have revealed a new trailer for The Casting of Frank Stone, a new horror adventure created by Supermassive Games, the team behind Until Dawn for Sony andThe Dark Pictures Anthology for Bandai Namco.

Behaviour Interactive’s 8th anniversary stream saw them make a slew of big announcements for their main game and franchise, Dead by Daylight. There’s the reveal of the next big event, themed after Dungeons & Dragons, a new 2v8 game mode, and a tease of what’s coming down the pipe with a Castlevania collaboration!

Supermassive Games’ The Casting of Frank Stone, a narrative horror game based on the Dead by Daylight universe, has received its first gameplay trailer. It sees four friends in the 1980s traveling to Cedar Hills’ steel mill to shoot a horror film. Unfortunately, the scares turn out to be more than just fiction.

In its eighth anniversary broadcast for Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive announced two of six upcoming Chapters for the asymmetrical horror. Dead by Daylight turns eight today, and to celebrate the milestone, Behaviour Interactive held its anniversary stream to share new details on updates headed to the asymmetrical horror game. This includes an official reveal of a new game mode, details on the previously teased D&D chapter, and updates on its upcoming spinoff projects.

Behaviour Interactive is committed to growing Dead by Daylight as a franchise. That much is clear given that three spinoff games from the multiplayer horror hit were shown off during a live stream today. One of them is even out now.

Supermassive Games, the UK developer responsible for well-liked narrative horror games like Until Dawn, The Quarry, and The Dark Pictures Anthology is the latest studio to be hit with the layoff bug afflicting the industry. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, around 90 employees, which represents nearly a third of Supermassive’s 300-strong staff, have been laid off. Supermassive themselves acknowledged the layoffs via the following statement…

We have seen far too many reports lately of the video game industry getting hit with layoffs. Seeing another studio come out with layoffs is always disheartening, but that’s the case again today. We’re finding out that Supermassive Games will be the next major studio that will be cutting back some of its staffing. 

Supermassive Games, the Guildford-based developer behind Until Dawn, The Quarry and the Dark Pictures anthology horror series, has announced job losses «with deep regret».

The Quarry and The Dark Pictures Anthology studio Supermassive Games is the latest developer to suffer layoffs. In a new report by Bloomberg, the developer revealed to staff that 150 employees were “at risk” of redundancy. Roughly 90 staff members will be laid off, with an email informing employees earlier today.

Supermassive Games, the studio best known for making choice-filled horror games that are borderline interactive movies, announced that it is planning to lay off employees as job losses continue to devastate the gaming industry.

Another developer has joined the increasingly long list of companies in the games industry that have companies that have initiated layoffs in the early weeks of 2024, continuing the brutal waves of job cuts that devastated the industry the entirety of last year.

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has reportedly laid off 45 people, Kotaku has learned. The publication says those with knowledge of the situation at the studio said the layoffs only affected people at Behaviour's Montreal, Canada studio, with those 45 affected let go last week, between January 9 and 11. 

It takes a certain type of person to truly revel in the frights and scares of a truly immersive horror game. Whether it's a psychological thriller like or player-choice, narrative-driven games like , plenty of highly anticipated horror games are being released in 2024. While some of the new games come in the form of known and loved franchises or as reboots of iconic titles like, other games are creating wholly unique and new worlds for players to explore and experiment in.

Remedy's Alan Wake is joining Behaviour Interactive's Dead By Daylight as a playable Survivor, having been conjured from his writing desk by the latter game's villainous Entity.

Earlier this year, Supermassive Games, the team behind The Quarry, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and Until Dawn, announced it was collaborating with Behaviour Interactive to create a single-player game set in the latter's Dead by Daylight universe. After teasing an appearance at The Game Awards 2023 yesterday online, the teams have officially revealed The Casting of Frank Stone. It hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime in 2024.

The single-player narrative horror game was officially revealed at The Game Awards 2023 on December 7, 2023, and looks to be a promising project created by two of the biggest names in horror gaming.

Supermassive Games have dropped the first trailer for The Casting of Frank Stone, their single player Dead by Daylight spin-off, a collaboration with original developer Behavior Interactive that was announced earlier this year. The new horror game combines Until Dawn’s branching storyline approach with Dead by Daylight’s supporting fiction of a malevolent Entity, trapping people in fog-bound pocket dimensions with legendary killers, so as to feast on their fear.
