Stellar Blade has invited quite a lot of comparisons to other titles in recent weeks, ever since the game's demo officially dropped. First thought to be a Devil May Cry/Bayonetta inspired hack-and-slash, fans jumped into the game to see that developer Shift Up has actually taken a lot of inspiration from the likes of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Nier Automata.

NieR director Yoko Taro, NieR series producer Yosuke Saito, and NieR composer Keiichi Okabe are all working on a new game together, it's been confirmed, but nobody's willing to say whether the project is actually a NieR title yet. Speaking to Famitsu, Saito teased: «I'll have something a bit more put-together to say in the not-too-distant future, so please stay tuned. It might be NieR, it might not be NieR. (Laughs.)»

Announced last month, NieR: Automata’s 2B will arrive in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising on February 20th. The news was revealed during the fighting game’s Top 8 Finals at Frosty Faustings 2024. She’s included in Character Pass 1 but can also be purchased separately for $7.99. 2B’s launch is included with the Version 1.2 update, which includes the option to use Weapon Cutouts in online lobbies.

Yoko Taro’s NieR series has been synonymous with live service crossovers since the release of NieR Automata. Everything from Final Fantasy XIV to Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has seen the likes of 2B make an appearance, so it’s tragically ironic that NieR’s own live service game, NieR Reincarnation, is closing its doors soon.

Sad news mobile enthusiasts…another popular game out of Japan is shuttering its servers. The game in question is SINoALICE developed by Pokelabo and published by SquareEnix, which originally launched in Japan in June 2017 and worldwide in July 2020.
