Hades II early access is available now on Steam and Epic Games

As you might’ve heard, Hades 2 is out in early access, offering up the much-anticipated sequel to Supergiant’s mythical (and delightfully thirsty) roguelite. Though the sheer amount of polish and Stuff in even its pre-release form might have you thinking that a full 1.0 release can’t be too far down the line, the game’s creative director reckons we’ve still got around a year to wait before it’s considered all finished up.

Since Hades II launched in Early Access just over a week ago, developer Supergiant Games has been collecting feedback from players. Now, some of that feedback has been put to use in the game's first patch, and there are still more adjustments on their way.

Supergiant Games has shared details about Hades 2’s first patch following its Early Access release last week.

is developer Supergiant Games' follow-up to 2020's influential and adored roguelike, and to say that expectations are high would be something of an understatement. It's hard to look at a successful roguelike in the wake of and not find some of its fingerprints somewhere in the game's approach, whether it's careful attention paid to world design or an upgrade system that's adjacent to Boons from the the gods of Olympus. Character design, soundtrack, deep mechanics, customizable runs — the original had it all and then some, and still features as a genre touchstone for innovation.

The Rogue Prince of Persia will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on May 27, publisher Ubisoft and developer Evil Empire announced.

Hades 2 Early Access has reached over 100,000 concurrent players 24 hours after launch, beating Hades' all-time peak player count on Steam. 

After five years of development, two of those in early access, Stunlock Studios’ V Rising is now available on PC. The action RPG sees players as vampires who suddenly awaken in a world of humans. Survival is paramount, especially when hunters (including Simon Belmont from Castlevania) and other supernatural threats abound. Check out the latest trailer here.

With the launch of in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store, Supergiant Games, the game's developers, have provided a general roadmap for updates leading up to the official, full release. A roguelike based on Greek myth, is the first direct sequel to be developed by Supergiant, a studio known for its strong lineup of standalone games like,, and. As a direct sequel, however, represents an opportunity for the studio to more directly build on the mechanics and narrative of the first game.

After what felt like a much longer wait than it really was, Hades 2 is out now in early access. PC players can dive into the roguelike sequel right now and start their war against Chronos. Not everyone is rushing to buy their copy, though. Since its release, I’ve seen a common question across social media and my own personal circles: “Should I play it now or wait for 1.0?”

Without any warning, Hades 2 has launched into early access on both Steam and the Epic Games Store for players to hack and slash through the levels. 

The Early Access release of Hades 2 has already more than doubled the all-time peak concurrent player count of the first game on Steam.

Hades 2 is finally out now in early access, giving us all the chance to jump in and give protagonist Melinoe a spin for the first time. Of course, Hades 2 isn't fully feature complete yet, with multiple big updates planned for later this year and in 2025, so questions have been raised as to exactly how much Hades 2 we'll get to play before we hit a wall. Thankfully, developer Supergiant is on hand to clear that up.
