I have a sneaking affection for slightly jarring genre hybrids - games like the relatively recent Disintegration and the much older Battlezone 2, which smush action mechanics together with real-time strategy, or the rather more elegant Puzzle Quest, in which you roll around a parchment landscape fighting wizards using the power of match-3. That comes from a new interview with the studio’s CEO, Adam Kiciński, who discusses acquisition possibilities while providing small updates on the studio’s litany of upcoming projects.

Google provided information that incorrectly undervalued the Polish currency the zloty by over a fifth, prompting authorities on Tuesday to calm the public and demand the search engine giant provide an explanation. On Monday evening, Google's currency converter showed a rate of up to 5.20 zloty per euro and 4.70 zloty per dollar, which represented a drop in value of more than a fifth from the rate on the previous trading day on Friday. The information set off a storm of speculation on X, formerly Twitter, and although Poles did not rush to buy dollars on Tuesday, officials called for calm.

After missing its planned release window in 2023, it now has a full release date - and it’s only a few months away.

Owlcat Games continues its work on Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, this time with a patch aimed at rectifying some nagging problems. Patch 1.0.88 contains a multitude of changes, including making skill checks easier across the board. The next major patch will release sometime in January 2024.

As most of our readers certainly know, Polish developer Techland released Dying Light 2: Stay Human in early 2022. The long awaited sequel was quite successful right away, and the developer promised to enhance it with a ton of new content and features for at least five years after launch, just like they did with the original game.

Blade & Soul NEO Classic, which NCSoft calls “The start of a newBlade & Soul journey” is a classic server in Unreal Engine 4 with promised new content and more to come. The team has begun previewing some of the features and what makes this upcoming classic server stand out.

Given how packed 2023 was, it’s only natural that some games were going to fall below the radar for many, and as it turns out, Focus Entertainment and Deck13’s action RPG Atlas Fallen turned out to be one of them. It launched for PC and current-gen consoles in August to lukewarm reception, and it seems that’s been reflected in its sales as well.

In 2022, upstart crowdfunding website Gamefound left beta to go head-to-head against Kickstarter, at the time the world’s premiere crowdfunding platform for tabletop games. More than a year later, the Polish company has proved its worth with a cavalcade of high-profile campaigns by CMON, Everything Epic, and Chip Theory Games among others. Now its own imprint, Awaken Realms, has achieved something remarkable: It’s campaign for Nemesis: Retaliation, the third in its series of Alien-inspired board games, is now the third most-funded tabletop game of all time. It closed Thursday with nearly $12.2 million earned. Delivery is expected by April 2025.

Less than a week after The Day Before’s disastrous launch on PC, following multiple delays and becoming the most wishlisted game on Steam, the makers of the zombie-survival shooter have announced their closure.

The latest beta test for Once Human, from NetEase and Starry Studio, has seen such an enthusiastic response and high demand that the team is expanding the test from 20,000 to 50,000. However, in order to maintain a good experience for all, after December 13th, the test will go invite-only, so there’s a limited time to download and freely access the beta.
