There will be brand new tales told in the world of Stephen King’s epic novel The Stand as an anthology of new stories from various authors has been announced.

Fallout fans have widely praised the television show on Amazon Prime, and one Fallout 4 player in particular has chosen to recreate Norm MacLean as the Sole Survivor. Though the show sparked some initial controversy in the Fallout community due to a misunderstanding about how it fits into the timeline after Fallout: New Vegas, it has ultimately been embraced by a majority of fans – and perhaps most importantly – it brought a lot of new players to Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and even the older titles.

Bandai Namco promised a balance patch for Tekken 8 this Spring, and based on the recent notes, it’s a doozy. Going live on May 7th at 7 PM PDT, Ver.1.04.00 contains adjustments to several fighters. Marvel's Blood Hunt event is shaping up to potentially be one of the publisher's biggest stories in some time, with six spin-off limited series announced so far and more yet to come, to say nothing of ongoing series tie-ins and one-shots that are yet to be announced. 

It's been confirmed that WWE 2K24's Showcase mode will have 21 matches total. Showcase is one of the WWE 2K franchise's flagship game modes, and so it's no surprise that it's coming back for WWE 2K24. Sometimes Showcase has focused on specific eras in the WWE, while other times the mode has been used to highlight the careers of specific superstars.

The WWE 2K franchise has spent the last couple of years finding its feet again after the disastrously received WWE 2K20, with last year’s WWE 2K23 being quite a solid effort in my estimation, even if it wasn’t quite the cohesive overall package I was hoping for. This year’s WWE 2K24 looks to build on that sturdy foundation with a wider array of new features than last year, including a new 2K Showcase celebrating WrestleMania’s 40th birthday, several new match types, gameplay updates like Super Finishers, and more (you can check out my full hands-on impressions here).

Marvel Studios has released a brand new batch of images for Season 3, teasing the debut of Sam Wilson’s Captain America in animated form.

Viseo game publisher 2K has revealed a ton of details on WWE 2K24, including its cover stars: Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley. This year’s wrestling simulator is getting a host of new features, including a Wrestlemania-themed Showcase mode and a roster filled with legends like Andre the Giant. It launches on March 8 (with an early access release on March 5) for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

According to Toonado.com, Reservation Dogs alum Devery Jacobs has been tapped to join the voice cast of Disney+’s Season 2. Jacobs will officially be voicing the role of Kahhori, a young Native American woman who will be Marvel Studios’ first ever original superhero created for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Like Jacobs, Kahhori is also part of the Mohawk people.

A brand new Season 2 clip from the upcoming return of Marvel Studios‘ hit animated series has been revealed ahead of its premiere tomorrow on Disney+. The video highlights another alternate timeline, where Nebula has joined the Nova Corps. It also features the return of Seth Green‘s Howard the Duck.

A new has been released, ringing in the holidays with a peek at some of the upcoming stories from across the MCU‘s multiverse. The series is set to debut on Disney+ on December 22 and, from then on, will premiere one new episode every day for nine days in a row.

Starting on December 12, viewers can stream Wes Anderson’s latest project, Asteroid City, a comedy-drama that revolves around the events at a 1955 Junior Stargazer convention from the perspective of multiple attendees in the form of a play. The film serves as Anderson’s homage to popular memory and mythology about extraterrestrials and UFOs witnessed in the Southwestern deserts of the United States during the postwar period of the American 20th century and features an ensemble cast that includes Tom Hanks, Jason Schwartzman, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, Tilda Swinton, Jeffrey Wright, Willem Dafoe, Scarlett Johansson, Margot Robbie, Steve Carrell, Jeff Goldblum, and Maya Hawke, among other cast members.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, the anime adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s hit comic series by studio Science Saru, premiered on Netflix last friday. Produced and written by O’Malley and co-creator BenDavid Grabinski, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off diverges significantly from the source material, morphing into an adaptation that at once functions as both a sequel and a remake of O’Malley’s original comic.

“Why are we doing this now?” is an understandable question to have when hearing about the new Netflix anime Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, or even throughout most of its first episode. Scott Pilgrim isn’t getting any older. That’s really his problem, when you get right down to it. In 2010, the year the character made his big-screen debut in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, he was a youthful but dissipated 22 years old — a typical product of millennial slacker culture, energized out of his torpor through his quest to win the heart of his dream girl, Ramona Flowers. That quest, and the self-discovery that resulted from it, turned Scott Pilgrim (both the character hailing from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s early-2000s graphic novels and the Edgar Wright-directed adaptation thereof) into a touchstone for a whole generation of semi-sensitive young men who came of age in the early 2000s. For them — for us — Scott was the quintessential Nice Guy: quasi-living proof that the sensitive, needy, guitar-strumming mediocrities among us could inherit, if not the Earth, then at least a girl with really good taste in CDs.

I've loved the recent Mortal Kombat games, but if there's one thing they have not been good at, it's celebrity cameos. From Ronda Rousey as Sonya, to the Dimitri Vegas skin for Sub-Zero, to most recently Megan Fox as Nitara, more often than not the appearance of a famous face in these games means that you're about to be subjected to voice-acting more grisly than the fatalities. So I'm frankly a little horrified to find out that Ed Boon's dream for Mortal Kombat 1 was for all the fighters to be played by different household names.

Despite not being a festive series, Marvel’s What If…? Season 2 is getting a holiday release date.

Ultra Pro Wrestling’s showcase has dropped and with it comes the first in-game footage and a metric-ton of roster announcements. We got to see intros that pay homage to Virtual Pro Wrestling 2’s full walkouts from the backstage area to the ring with “Blue Collar” Bill Dollar facing “Sir” Oliver Buckingham. The light and hard strikes and grapples were shown off and the strikes definitely have the same feel as No Mercy in terms of reactions and selling. The grapples seem a tad floaty, but this is pre-alpha footage and that can always be tightened up. The go-behind animation definitely needs some work and the snap German based on one of Dr. Death’s variants in the Aki engine looks pretty good overall.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World always seemed destined for an animated series, rather than the live-action adaptation we got—don't get me wrong, I like Michael Cera's awkward mien as much as the next guy, but the comic's bombastic video-gamey style and expressive art always seemed like a natural fit for a cartoon.
