There will be brand new tales told in the world of Stephen King’s epic novel The Stand as an anthology of new stories from various authors has been announced.
is being edited by revered horror writer Brian Keene and Christopher Golden and features short stories from Josh Malerman, Paul Tremblay, Richard Chizmar, S. A. Cosby, Tananarive Due, Alma Katsu, Caroline Kepnes, Michael Koryta, Scott Ian, Joe R. Lansdale, Maurice Broaddus and Wayne Brady, Bryan Smith, Somer Canon, Hailey Piper, Jonathan Janz and more.
The project is 100% approved by Stephen King himself, and will feature an introduction from him as well. There is no set release date or information on book formats at this time.
The Stand was first published 45 years ago, in 1978. It sees a virus wipe out a large swathe of humanity, with the remainder eventually drawn into a war between the forces of Good and Evil.
It was adapted into a mini-series in 1994 starring Gary Sinise, Molly Ringwald, and Rob Lowe. It was then given another one in 2020 starring Alexander Skarsgard, Whoopi Goldberg, and James Marsden.
