Keeping track of all the latest video games coming out is an increasingly complex task, what with multiple PC storefronts, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, mobile, and more to keep track of, but don’t worry, I’m here to help. Every month I'll be running down the games you need to be keeping an eye on, from the big triple-A headliners, to the intriguing indies you might overlook.
February was a packed month, and the crush isn’t really letting up in March. Players can look forward to a number of heavy hitters and exclusives including the much-anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, Alone in the Dark, WWE 2K24, and more. Things are equally busy on the indie front, with Annapurna Interactive’s latest Open Roads, the long-awaited full release of The Outlast Trials, and more.

Note: While I may have played demos or got early access to some of the games recommended in this article, in most cases I’m simply choosing games that look promising, and can’t vouch for the end product. Do wait for reviews before buying!

The Headliners
Unicorn Overlord (Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 & Switch, Mar. 8)
Vanillaware, the makers of acclaimed, visually-stunning games like 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Dragon’s Crown, and Odin Sphere, returns with their latest oddly-title effort, Unicorn Overlord. A new tactical RPG in the vein of Ogre Battle or Final Fantasy Tactics, players can expect Unicorn Overlord to deliver a compelling storyline, deep combat, and some very pretty art. WWE 2K24 (PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 & PS5, Mar. 8)
Another year, another round of pro wrasslin’ action! After the disastrous WWE 2K20, developer Visual Concepts has been putting the work into improving the series, and WWE 2K24 seems like it may be one of their better efforts in some time. In addition to further upgrades to the in-ring action, players can look forward to new Ambulance and Casket matches, a retooled Showcase mode celebrating WrestleMania’s 40th birthday, and more. Today, Remedy released its latest quarterly report for the period between October and December 2023. Despite the successful launch of Alan Wake 2, which was the fastest-selling game ever made by the studio even launching in a highly competitive release window, Q4 2023 marked a decrease in both revenue and profitability compared to 2022 due to significantly increased investments in the other game projects and to the impairment charge cost (€ -7.2 million) related to the reboot of the free-to-play Project Vanguard, from now on known as Kestrel.
Pre-orders for the latest wave of 4K Blu-rays featuring Disney Plus original shows are live. The collector’s edition Steelbooks for the first seasons of Andor, Obi-Wan,Moon Knight, and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier vary in price, and can currently be reserved at Amazon or Walmart ahead of their April 30 launch.
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have a new trailer for Rise of the Ronin, showcasing the various characters and factions players will encounter on their journey. There are the Pro-Shogunate forces (Sabaku) dedicated to maintaining the current order; the Anti-Shogunate forces (Tobaku), who want to oust the foreigners; and the Western faction (Obei), led by US Navy commodore Matthew Perry, seeking trade.
Capcom’s has dropped several new details and a release window for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, an upcoming action strategy title. During Capcom Highlights Day 1, it offered a gameplay deep dive. Check it out below.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2024, Capcom has confirmed. The «action strategy» game inspired by Japanese mythology is yet another addition to the long list of titles that will have day-one Xbox Game Pass debuts this year.
At yesterday’s Xbox Partner Preview, in addition to showcasing new gameplay for The Alters, 11 bit studios also revealed a new trailer for Frostpunk and confirmed a July launch date for the highly anticipated city building survival sequel’s PC version.
Patch 1.43 is out now for Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 and PS4, which bundles another three cars into the driving simulator as well as new races to take part in at Laguna Seca and the Suzuka and Tsukuba Circuits. A 1.68GB update will gain you access to that content, which can be downloaded now.
