It's been confirmed that WWE 2K24's Showcase mode will have 21 matches total. Showcase is one of the WWE 2K franchise's flagship game modes, and so it's no surprise that it's coming back for WWE 2K24. Sometimes Showcase has focused on specific eras in the WWE, while other times the mode has been used to highlight the careers of specific superstars.
A couple of years ago, Rey Mysterio received his own Showcase mode that let fans relive some of the greatest matches from the celebrated luchadore's career. WWE 2K23, meanwhile, offered a unique twist on the Showcase mode. The mode itself was themed after John Cena, but instead of highlighting his greatest triumphs, the mode put players in the shoes of wrestlers that defeated Cena in various high profile matches.
WWE 2K24 isn't using its Showcase mode to feature any one superstar, but is instead all about celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania. As such, the mode will feature some of the biggest matches in WrestleMania history. A full list of the available WWE 2K24 Showcase matches is not available at the time of this writing, but it has been confirmed that the mode will feature 21 matches pulled from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. This was revealed by WWE 2K24 developer Bryan Williams in an interview with WCCFTech.
With WWE 2K24 even having a special 40 Years of WrestleMania edition, some may be scratching their heads about why the mode doesn't feature one match from each WrestleMania. It seems like a missed opportunity. However, there are a couple of possible explanations as to why this is. For one, WWE 2K24's 21 Showcase Matches is more than the 12 matches for the Rey Mysterio Showcase and the 14 matches for the John Cena Showcase, so it's already considerably more content than fans have gotten from the mode in the last two years. Secondly, the WWE 2K franchise has already had a similar WrestleMania-themed Showcase mode in a previous game.
10 years ago, WWE 2K14 featured a WrestleMania-themed Showcase mode that not only featured at least one match from each WrestleMania, and in some cases, multiple matches from the same WrestleMania. While some may be disappointed that WWE 2K24 isn't going all-out and featuring one match from each WrestleMania, this way there should be less overlap, though there are definitely some matches being repeated in this year's Showcase.
In the same interview, it was also stressed that there would be «a lot more female representation» in WWE 2K24 compared to WWE 2K14. In fact, WWE 2K14 didn't have a single women's match in its entire lineup. With WWE 2K24 set to launch on March 8, fans should be treated to a full rundown of all 21 Showcase matches in the relatively near future.

Some WWE fans are unhappy with Kurt Angle's WWE 2K24 rating, since it's lower than one of WWE's most controversial superstars from the current roster. Kurt Angle will be playable in WWE 2K24 alongside over 200 wrestlers from WWE's past and present, including John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Roman Reigns.
WWE fans are getting a new wrestling game to enjoy next month. That will be the WWE 2K24 installment, and while we are waiting for the date to roll around, some players are already getting a chance to try the title out. It looks like some media outlets have gained access to the upcoming installment and are sharing footage online.
CM Punk hasn’t been confirmed as a playable character in WWE 2K24 yet, but the Chicago-born superstar recently made the case to be added as DLC down the road. Nearly ten years after his last virtual appearance in a WWE video game and just a few months removed from his controversial departure from AEW, CM Punk shocked audiences by walking out to the ring at the very end of November’s Survivor Series live event. Since then, there has been much speculation about Punk’s WWE future, including whether or not he will appear in the upcoming WWE 2K24.

WWE 2K24's recent ratings reveal confirms the overalls of several WWE Superstars, including the likes of LA Knight, Bayley, and more. With the whole WWE 2K24 roster confirmed, information regarding their ratings and rankings has slowly been rolled out as well. 2K Sports has revealed the final roster for WWE 2K24, and it's impressive. Over 204 superstars are playable, including 70 Legends who are no longer on the main rosters and 8 managers, but there's a couple notable absences from the playable roster: former WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and 7-time WWE Champion and 3-time WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
If you’ve paid attention to the wrestling world in 2024, things have gotten rather chaotic rather quickly. In the case of WWE, a massive scandal occurred concerning their former Chairman, CEO, and owner of World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon. Just before their premiere event, the Royal Rumble, a massive lawsuit revealed heinous acts McMahon and others within the company did. While we won’t talk about all of them via the explicit nature of things, let’s just say that a form of “human trafficking” and abuse was going on, and this would lead to changes within WWE 2K24, the company’s latest video game which is set to arrive in March.
WWE 2K24 is bringing back Special Guest Referee Matches for the first time in 10 years, and now the developers have posted a brief teaser of the stipulation. During certain wrestling matches, the usual official is replaced by someone who usually doesn’t have this job, such as another WWE 2K24 wrestler. This can add drama to a given storyline, as the replacement referee in question more often than not has a personal bias (at least in kayfabe) toward or against one of the competitors, which could impact their enforcement of the rules during the match.
WWE 2K24 has revealed even more superstar ratings, including some controversial ones, like record-breaking Intercontinental Champion Gunther having the same 90 overall rating as Logan Paul. WWE 2K24 promises to feature a massive roster of superstars from Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and WWE's storied past.
2K Games confirms eight more wrestlers joining the playable roster of WWE 2K24, which launches on March 8. The updated roster of WWE 2K24 includes beloved legends, active members of the RAW and Smackdown rosters, and up-and-coming young talent from the NXT roster.
