If Sonic Colors: Ultimate and the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations weren’t enough, Sega is allegedly working on a remake of Sonic Heroes. Nintendo Universe reported that it’s developed on Unreal Engine for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and the rumored Nintendo Switch 2.

When Microsoft revealed its new strategy of bringing titles like Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment to other platforms, there was discussion on those that weren’t included. Starfield andIndiana Jones and the Great Circle were some of the most hotly rumored. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said the industry shouldn’t rule out any titles on other platforms, but they seem unlikely.

We’ve already been waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6 for well over a decade at this point, so a recent report by Kotaku that the game’s production was falling behind and that its release date could slip into 2026 were met with widespread disappointment. There seems to be conflicting information out there on that front though, because different sources are now claiming that a delay isn’t on the table for the game right now.

Star Wars Outlaws is officially supposed to launch sometime this year, and though Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment haven’t yet nailed down a narrower release timing for the action-adventure title, recent developments seem to be indicating that it’ll be out sooner than some might expect.

Xbox might be facing some push back from third-party developers. According to Chris Dring of GamesIndustry.biz, developers he spoke to during the recent Game Developers Conference indicated that Xbox’s general place in the market right now spells trouble for Microsoft.

Developer Colossal Order has released a the first post-launch asset pack for Cities: Skylines 2 titled Beach Properties. The asset pack is available on all platforms, and is priced at $9.99. The Beach Properties asset pack is also available as part of the Cities: Skylines 2 Waterfronts Expansion Pass, as well as the game’s Ultimate Edition release.

Developer Remedy Entertainment, known for its work on critically-acclaimed titles like 2019’s Control and 2023’s Alan Wake 2, has revealed more details about its next title—a live-service game based on the Control setting. As caught by VGC, the studio revealed details about its next game, currently codenamed Condor, in its recent annual financial report.

With Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist available for PC via Steam Early Access, Binary Haze Interactive also announced in a press release that Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights has sold over 1.4 million copies. Its last milestone was selling over one million copies as of February 2023.

Developed by Adglobe and Live Wire, it focuses on Lilac, an Attuner in the Land of Fumes who must save the Homunculi driven to madness due to the Rain of Death.

It’s been close to a year since Final Fantasy 16’s release, but fans of the action RPG continue to have plenty to look forward to. After its second (and likely final) expansion, The Rising Tide, releases next month, Square Enix’s attention will then turn fully to the PC port, which is currently in the final stages of optimization– and it seems that an Xbox Series X/S release will be next up after that.

It’s been a rather interesting Game Developers Conference for Larian Studios, with the developer confirming that Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t receive DLC, expansions or a sequel. Instead, it has two new games in mind, including a “very big RPG” that will dwarf its 2023 magnum opus. Since it doesn’t have the tech yet, this won’t be the studio’s next game.

Don’t Nod’s action RPG launched in February for PC and consoles, and was met with acclaim by critics and audiences alike. But given the success it enjoyed on the critical front, might Don’t Nod be looking to expand on the IP with future sequels?

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has attracted widespread acclaim from critics, and on Steam, it’s pulling in players in large numbers, though its launch has still hit a few stumbling blocks along the way. In addition to controversy kicked up by the game’s inclusion of microtransactions, it has also received criticism for some of its technical deficiencies. Capcom has previously said that it’s working on fixes for a number of them, and the company has now provided further details on what some of those fixes will bring.

Four years after its initial announcement, Braid: Anniversary Edition is finally launching on April 30th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC and Netflix. Dragon's Dogma 2 players are frustrated about the Dragonsplague feature, which can effectively break an entire playthrough if its warning signs are ignored. While the community has been signing praises over the gameplay in Dragon's Dogma 2, it also hasn't shied away from critiquing Capcom over its microtransaction practices. Furthermore, it has submitted feedback on some of the game's major shortcomings, such as its poor technical performance in cities like Vernworth, as well as the inability to restart Dragon's Dogma 2 as a new character.

From Skull and Bones to Beyond Good and Evil 2 and many others, Ubisoft has been no stranger to games being stuck in limbo in recent years, and it seems another one of its in-development projects is currently facing similar struggles. Multiplayer shooter XDefiant has faced numerous delays in recent months, and though Ubisoft said earlier this year that the game would launch before April, with March now nearly over, that’s look incredibly unlikely.

Dragon's Dogma 2 allows for some truly bizarre gameplay moments, as demonstrated by a video of a player tossing a live pig back-and-forth with their Pawns. Though it initially had a negative reception on launch day, and the technical issues persist in major cities such as Vernworth, Dragon's Dogma 2 has catapulted itself to the top of the Steam chart with a high number of concurrent players seemingly enjoying the game despite its shortcomings. It is Capcom's biggest launch to date on the platform, which bodes well for Dragon Dogma's future as an RPG franchise.

Upon its official announcement in December, Grand Theft Auto 6 was handed a 2025 launch window, but if a report recently published by Kotaku is to be believed, the game is in danger of failing to hit its intended launch window, as has often been the case with Rockstar Games titles in the past.

Developer Grinding Gear Games has announced that the much-anticipated beta for Path of Exile 2, originally slated for June 7, is instead going to be pushed back. Developer Odd Bug Studio and publisher United Label have announced a follow-up to 2021’s side-scrolling action RPG Tails of Iron. It’s reducing the requirements for its introduction to the end game, like completing Elseworld Missions requiring a Finite Crisis Rank 5 instead of 10. Completing Killing Time will require Rank 10 instead of 20, while the Hardcore version requires Rank 15 instead of 30.

Uncharted creator Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media has officially unveiled Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, a single-player action-adventure game set during the Second World War that will see players stepping into the shoes of Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of that Era, and above all else, the game’s visual fidelity has turned more than a few heads. During the recent State of Unreal presentation at GDC, Hennig offered further details on the game, including how Unreal Engine is aiding its development.

One Palworld player has built an incredibly realistic base using a variety of decorations. Palworld gives players free rein to construct functional bases, which provides security against hostile Pals and other threats. These bases consist of different parts, such as walls, stairs, and roofs, that can be crafted using natural resources like wood and stone. The easiest way to farm them is to chop down nearby trees and smash Mining Stones scattered throughout the world.

In the run-up to the release of open world RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2, developer and publisher Capcom has revealed that it is aware of inconsistencies in the game’s frame rate performance on PC in particular. In a statement to IGN, Capcom has revealed that it is looking into ways in which it can improve the performance of the game.

We’ve been hearing about Skydance New Media’s Marvel game for a while now. In 2021, it was announced that the Uncharted creator Amy Hennig-leg studio was working on a AAA single-player action-adventure Marvel game, and the following year, it was revealed that the game would be set in World War 2 and star Captain America and the Black Panther of that era as its playable protagonists.

Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear projects received a few bits of new information lately, showcasing the menu screen of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and updates coming to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. While it promised a more substantial presentation “soon,” it seems that David Hayter, who voices Naked Snake in the original, went hands-on with the title.

Control and Alan Wake have both brought Remedy Entertainment plenty of success in recent years, with Control having sold 4 million units, and Alan Wake 2 hitting 1.3 million sales to become the studio’s fastest-selling game. It’s no surprise, then, that the developer intends to keep expanding both franchises with more new releases going forward.

Embark Studio releases Update 2.1.0 for The Finals, further fleshing out the Private Match mode, fixing a ton of recent bugs, and making other general improvements to the rest of the game. Season 2 of The Finals has seemingly given new life to Embark's online shooter, a game which saw massive growth out of the gate but had started to experience a lot of drop off from players. However, season 2 provided a big refresh to the core experience, and so far, seems to be a hit with fans.

With Alan Wake 2 out of the way, it’s looking like the upcoming combined remake of Max Payne 1 and 2 is the next big single-player game that developer Remedy Entertainment will be focusing on, and the studio has now provided some more details about its development.

Starfield update 1.10.31 is now available for download across all platforms. This is an absolutely massive patch that introduces over 500 changes to Starfield, ranging from new gameplay features and UI tweaks to performance improvements and bug fixes.

The Metal Gear franchise is looking to make its long-awaited comeback with the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and though it’s still unclear when the remake will be out, long-suffering fans of the series already have questions about what the future is going to have in store for Metal Gear beyond that. Interestingly enough, according to Konami, based on how players respond to the upcoming remake, we might be seeing plenty more of Metal Gear going forward.

Since its announcement nearly a year ago, other than an in-engine montage of some in-game environments, we’ve seen very little (if that) of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. That slow drip of new morsels is continuing. Pieces Interactive’s Alone in the Dark, a reimagining of the legendary survival horror franchise, is out soon. It sees players controlling Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood as they explore Derceto Manor in 1920s Louisiana. The PC requirements have been revealed before its launch, with all configurations requiring a solid-state drive, Windows 10/11 64-bit and 50 GB installation space.

Developer Visual Concepts has released a new update for its recently-released pro-wrestling game WWE 2K24. The update, numbered at patch 1.04, was released for all versions of WWE 2K24 over the weekend, and largely revolves around bug fixes and stability improvements.

Assetto Corsa developer Kunos Simulazioni has said that the next game in the sim racing franchise will not be a spin-off like Assetto Corsa Competizione, and will instead be a proper sequel.

Microsoft seems to be getting ready for a new hardware release. As spotted by X (formerly Twitter) account Xbox News for Koreans (via GamesHorizon), a new Xbox development kit has seemingly been certified by South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency. A new hotfix is available for Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3. It fixes some crashes and issues with Minthara, but more importantly, it also brings hotfix 20 and 21 to Xbox Series X/S players. That means any issues with cross-platform saves should be gone.
