Though Path of Exile 2’s upcoming June beta has been delayed, the hype continues to build for the free-to-play sequel. Grinding Gear Games dropped a new trailer and walkthrough for the Ranger, revealing some new skills and how the ability to move while shooting changes things the gameplay
The idea behind the Ranger is to chase the Legolas fantasy of fast-bow action. Players can move while shooting arrows, suffering a slight penalty, and unleash projectiles like Poisonburst and Lighting Arrow. If enemies get too close, there’s Frost Escape, causing the Ranger to vault backwards and unleash a freezing arrow.
You can then channel Snipe, a new skill shot, to shatter frozen enemies. Arrow rain skills are also usable while moving like Lightning Rod, which remains in an area and shocks enemies passing over them. It can even be stuck into enemies, causing them to take 30 percent more damage from all sources. There’s more to glean, including the effects of Skill Gems, so check out the gameplay below.
Path of Exile 2 doesn’t have a launch date, but its beta arrives in late 2024 for PC. While announced as a new campaign for Path of Exile, it’s since become a standalone title.
