It's a busy spell for fans of Final Fantasy, and fantasy RPGs in general. Many folks are still working through Baldur's Gate 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but Dragon's Dogma 2 just dropped and Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtree arrives in June. The second Final Fantasy XVI DLC, The Rising Tide, will drop on April 18. On top of all that, Square Enix has revealed that Dawntrail, the fifth expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online, will arrive on July 2. Phew.

Final Fantasy 14 director and producer Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida has revealed the Dawntrail expansion release date — and joked he’s giving Elden Ring fans one week to play the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC before jumping back into the fantasy MMO.

Three weeks on from its release, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth train rolls on. That'll happen with a game that has so much to do alongside an already compelling story. Reviews and reactions to Rebirth have shown it's hard to pick holes in the early Game of the Year contender as almost every aspect of the sequel has been celebrated. That includes Rebirth's soundtrack, and if you were hoping to pick up a Collector's Edition of the OST, Amazon has provided a second chance.

Final Fantasy 14 Online's Dawntrailexpansion finally has a release date, and it'll be welcome news for those looking forward to a certain highly-anticipated From Software DLC.

Yesterday, Square Enix announced the final release date for Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, the latest expansion coming to its popular MMORPG. Dawntrail will go live on July 2 on all platforms. Funnily enough, Game Director Naoki Yoshida said it could have launched sooner, but they wanted to give players (and themselves) a bit more space to play Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, which launches on June 21.

Peripheral manufacturer PDP revealed its upcoming Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller in February, and it's a pretty slick piece of kit. Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised to see it comes with a fairly hefty price tag: £100, $130, or your local equivalent. Pre-orders for the undeniably appealing plastic instrument are now live, and it will begin taking up space in your living room sometime in April.

SEGA is really embracing its history these days, and it’s resulted in ongoing development of several nostalgic franchises, like Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi. But it’s also commissioning some cool merchandise collaborations, and you’ll probably want to add this Axel from Streets of Rage to your wishlist.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance was previously locked in for release on the 21st June, but for whatever reason, it's now launching one week earlier, on the 14th June. Atlus has confirmed the new date via its social media accounts, and states that any current pre-orders should now be fulfilled on the updated schedule.

If you want to play Rock Band 4 on consoles, it hasn’t been easy or affordable to pick up a new guitar controller. It’s common to find second-hand (ew) guitar controllers selling for $500 or so. That’s changing, thankfully, with the launch of PDP’s Riffmaster. It’s a $129.99 wireless guitar controller that’s coming to shelves in April for both PlayStation and Xbox consoles (either guitar is compatible with PC, to boot, and ships with a USB-A wireless transceiver). Its design accommodates right- and left-handed players.

Amiibo collectors are in limbo right now as the future of Nintendo's interactive figures hasn't been revealed. Sora's Smash Ultimate amiibo was released last month and it seems likely that will be the last one we get during the Switch era. Not only because Nintendo seems set to announce its next console any day now, but also because it has been reprinting various older amiibo, giving collectors a second chance to grab them.

Larian Studios announced a physical version of Baldur's Gate 3 was coming in Q1 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Deluxe Edition of the game that not only puts 2023's Game of the Year on discs but comes with a lot of extra stuff including a physical version of the game's fantastic soundtrack. If you want a physical version of that OST but don't want to buy the Deluxe Edition of the game, a triple vinyl version is now available for pre-order.

Four years after its original announcement, developer MidBoss has revealed the sequel to 2064: Read Only Memories, titled Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER, will finally launch for PS5 on 16th May 2024. It will cost £12.79 / $14.99 and releases predominantly as a digital title on the PS Store, though a physical version is available for pre-order at Serenity Forge. While a PS4 version had been confirmed previously, it's mentioned nowhere in today's press assets, so it's likely been cancelled.

Helldivers 2 has become big enough to earn its own clothing range on Insert Coin, with a variety of t-shirts, hoodies, and pins up for pre-order now. The items are set to ship in late May, by which point the tides of the in-game galactic warfare could have turned. There are two t-shirts — one bearing the Helldivers logo and another representing Super Earth — one hoodie, and a Super Earth pin available.

It’s not the biggest Pikachu plush ever made, but it is big! At 26 inches, or just over two feet, The Pokémon Company’s new big Pikachu plush is available for pre-order on The Pokémon Center website. The $199.99 plush toy is expected to ship in September 2024, according to the product page.

Following a number of rumors and an eventual leak, Lego has revealed its first collaboration with Dungeons & Dragons: a new set inspired by the classic tabletop game, just in time for its 50th anniversary. Officially titled the Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale, Lego Insiders can pre-order the $359.99 set starting April 1 exclusively from the Lego Store, while everyone else can roll for initiative beginning April 4. Pre-orders placed before April 7 will also receive a complementary Lego Dungeons & Dragons Mimic Dice Box.

Pokémon’s new TCG set, Scarlet and Violet — Twilight Masquerade, is bringing Ogerpon to the card game on May 24. While pre-release events for this set start on May 11, avid collectors will likely want to pre-order it early.

It's time to saddle up, partner, because Magic: The Gathering is headed to the Wild West with its latest set, Outlaws of Thunder Junction, launching on April 19. This set draws inspiration from the romantic ideals of the American Wild West, chock full of gunslingers, masked bandits, and vigilante justice. As its name suggests, the theme of Outlaws of Thunder Junction centers around a group of villains planning a heist, using a clever mash-up of Western tropes and arcane magic.

It was only a matter of time until Helldivers 2jumped off the screen and into reality. As a reflection of the game’s runaway success on PS5 and Steam, PlayStation has unveiled a lineup of merchandise made by Ripple Junction, including shirts, hats, coffee mugs, keychains — the whole deal. It’s full of cheeky game references, letting you wear the button combo to execute an Orbital Precision Strike strategem, or wear select quotes of Super Earth propaganda that your character is usually screaming as you annihilate bugs or robots.

The villains of a galaxy far, far away are just as iconic as its heroes, and it seems like the folks over at Ravensburger agree with the latest expansion to Star Wars Villainous. 

The Nintendo Switch is nearing the end of its lifecycle, but there are still a few loose ends to tie up before we find out what Nintendo has in store for us next. Princess Peach Showtime next week, a Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake in May, and then a Luigi's Mansion 2 remaster in June. Pre-orders for that last one are now open, revealing that Luigi fans will have a second chance to get their hands on a diorama that money previously couldn't buy.

Pre-orders for the latest wave of 4K Blu-rays featuring Disney Plus original shows are live. The collector’s edition Steelbooks for the first seasons of Andor, Obi-Wan,Moon Knight, and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier vary in price, and can currently be reserved at Amazon or Walmart ahead of their April 30 launch.

Monster Hunter is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month, which might be enough to make me grab my twin blades, head back to the new world, and turn more dinosaurs into hats. 

A new range of comics based on roguelike game Cult of the Lamb is on the way from Oni Press in association with publisher Devolver Digital and developer Massive Monster. The initial release, Cult of the Lamb: The First Verse, is a graphic novel designed to expand the mythology of the game. It's written by All Against All and Red Goblin's Alex Paknadel and drawn by Rick & Morty's Troy Little.

It was revealed during February's Nintendo Direct that a remaster of the 3DS's Monster Hunter Stories is coming soon. Now Capcom has revealed the remaster will also launch on PlayStation and PC and that it will be here on June 14, 2024. It also announced its previously Switch-exclusive sequel will also be coming to PlayStation for the first time, as well as a collection combining both games. However, a peek at the remaster's new page has revealed Switch owners will still be getting an exclusive of sorts.

Dragon’s Dogma 2, the sequel to the 2012 fantasy RPG from Capcom, is set to finally arrive on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X on March 22. In addition to incredible visuals that put the original to shame, Dragon’s Dogma 2 promises battles against colossal enemies, a robust character creation system, and new vocations for your characters.

Helldivers 2 has been the surprise hit of 2024 so far, giving PS5 owners an exclusive just as the studio confirmed none of its tentpole franchises will be getting new installments until at least April 2025. The multiplayer game has willing recruits teaming up to fight in the name of Super Earth, and now you can look good doing it on regular Earth as Insert Coin has teamed up with Arrowhead to create a line of exclusive Helldivers 2 merch.

Looks like Microsoft’s decision to port live service Xbox exclusive Sea of Thieves to PS5 is unlikely to land the company in choppy waters, as the title is currently making a charge on the PS Store’s pre-order charts. At the time of typing, the Rare sailing escapade occupies several spots on PlayStation’s upcoming best-sellers list, including the number one position above heavy hitters like Dragon’s Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

The so-called Expansion Pass for Persona 3 Reload is now available to pre-order in regions where it's the 12th March — which means that we now know how much it's going to cost. In New Zealand, for example, it's priced at $56.95, which roughly equates to £30 in the UK and $35 in the US.

The Dragon's Dogma 2 size has been revealed on Xbox Series X as the game's pre-load on Microsoft's console has gone live.

Digimon turns 25 this year and a lengthy stream from its creators over the weekend revealed some of what's planned to mark the occasion. Unfortunately, there wasn't much to write home about. However, the reveal that an upgraded version of Digimon's Digivices will return, and are already available to pre-order, saved the stream somewhat.

We finally learned the release date of 11 Bit Studios’ highly anticipated Frostpunk 2 during the Xbox Partner Preview today. While the game is about surviving and thriving in a frosty postapocalyptic world, Frostpunk 2 is coming out in the middle of summer.

It's been a long time coming for a variety of reasons, but by the end of 2024, Stalker 2 will almost certainly be here. The sequel was first announced in 2012, canceled, rebooted in 2018, and has since had its release date pushed back a few times, most notably when development at Ukrainian studio GSC Game World was disrupted by the Russian invasion. With six months to go until Stalker 2, console players may finally get the chance to play the series' original trilogy.

The recently revealed Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is out on PS5 and PS4 this June, when PlayStation players will get a chance to experience the demonic RPG, once exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Along with an extended cut trailer, Atlus has revealed the fancy physical editions fans can now pre-order for PS5 (PS4 pre-orders will be digital only).

With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth right around the corner, you would likely assume the Square Enix sequel to be dominating the pre-order charts found on Sony's own PS Store. However, for roughly a week now, this hasn't actually been the case. Ever since the confirmation of the PS5, PS4 Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, the RPG follow-up has had to fend off stiff competition to claim top spot from two re-released PS2 classics.

Steam Deck may have its work cut out for it soon, as pre-orders for the upcoming Claw device from MSI are being taken. We also have a release date, with one of the models launching on March 8 in the US, followed by the other two variants a week later.

With the F1 season now officially upon us, racing enthusiasts will be turning their sights to the F1 24 game, which now has a release date confirmed.

Kirby has been inhaling stuff since his video game introduction, an ability that grants him the power of whatever or whoever he swallows. In The Forgotten Land, the pink puffball kicked things up a notch. Most of the enemies and items Kirby had swallowed until his first 3D adventure were his size or smaller. However, in The Forgotten Land, he inhaled vending machines, gliders, and even a car. Car Mouth Kirby quickly became the image the game became synonymous with, and two years later, it has finally been turned into a collectible.

Nintendo’s latest Direct gave us the official announcement of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, the definitive edition of SMT V, which originally released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch back in 2021. Bethesda has opened up pre-orders for an anthology of Fallout games, appropriately bundled into a decorative mini nuke you might fire off at a Deathclaw. The Fallout S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Anthology, a $60 collector’s edition, will launch just before the April 12 premiere of the Fallout TV show on Prime Video. The set includes the Steam codes for every Fallout title launched on PC since 1997, plus a comprehensive set of DLC for many of the games included.

It's officially that time of year again, as EA Sports and Codemasters have officially revealed the first trailer for F1 24, along with the announcement that the game will be zooming onto store shelves later this year on May 31. While this particular trailer didn't give us any gameplay footage to check out all the improvements on F1 23, EA Sports has promised that a full reveal of the title will take place this April, although a specific date has yet to be announced.

Though rumors circulated prior, it has now been confirmed that F1 24 will launch on May 31, leaving you ample time to get ready for a high-octane experience.

Universes Beyond has been introducing elements from other series to Magic: The Gathering for the past few years, and Fallout will be the next IP to join the tabletop game, coinciding with the games' live-action adaptation hitting Netflix. MTG fans will already have half an eye on the second of the two Universes Beyond expansions coming in 2024, though - Assassin's Creed. Despite not releasing until July, items from the set are now available to pre-order on Amazon.

Wizards of the Coast arrived in Chicago this past weekend with an armful of announcements for Magic: The Gathering, but the best one could easily fit inside your pocket. It’s called Bloomburrow, and it’s the most charming thing to happen to the collectible card game in a long while. A news release, dropped Monday, reveals a few more details on the its pint-sized heroes plus set release dates for the first half of the year. Let’s dip in.

Lorcana has been huge since its inception last year. That'll happen when you merge the worlds of Disney and TCGs. Two sets down, and navigating how exactly to distribute decks and sets has been tricky for Lorcana sellers big and small. With Lorcana's third set, Into The Inklands arriving in Disney Parks this week, Amazon has outlined how it plans to deal with its own stock of the expansion, opening a virtual queue for anyone who wants a chance at be among the first to land Into The Inklands products to join.

The latest expansion for the Disney Lorcana, Into the Inklands, is now available to pre-order from Amazon — that is, if you receive an invite via its virtual queue system. Just like the launch of Lorcana’s previous expansion, Rise of the Floodborn, you’ll have to manually register for invites for theDisney Lorcana products you want to buy. Doing so will enter your name into a lottery to check out with the products you’ve selected.

After much waiting and hoping, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware promised to finally give us the first trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree today, and boy did they deliver. This first three-minute look at the expansion focuses heavily on new bosses, and they look like a very intimidating lot – a towering flaming effigy, a twisted Chinese dragon type thing, what appears to be a giant stick bug, and more. This is all lorded over by what would seem to be the new big bad of the expansion, Messmer the Impaler (that’s him in the header image).

Getting your hands on a copy of Ninja Five-O for Game Boy Advance would normally cost you hundreds of dollars in 2024. And that’s just for a loose cartridge; complete copies of Ninja Five-O have sold for $700 (or more) on eBay in recent months. But there will soon be a much cheaper way to play Konami and Hudson Soft’s beloved GBA action side-scroller, thanks to a re-release from Limited Run Games.

We learned earlier today that Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush, once console exclusives to Xbox, are two of four games releasing on other consoles in the coming months. Shortly after that, Obsidian and Bethesda announced that both games will receive a physical and digital release.

The video game corner of the internet is currently ablaze as a Nintendo Direct and the debut trailer for the Borderlands movie happened within two hours of each other. Oh, and there was the minor matter of the first trailer of Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC sandwiched neatly between them. The trailer finally revealed when The Lands Between will be expanded upon as well as pre-order details for those continuing their journey or who plan to play Elden Ring for the first time this year.
