EA and Codemasters have announced F1 24 will launch on 31st May 2024, coming out across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC. A full reveal will come in April.
There’s not much to go on from the trailer that accompanies this announcement, but Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters said that, “Our full reveal is coming soon, and we’re bringing players an overhauled Career mode, a new EA SPORTS Dynamic Handling System, and so much more.”
What there is, though, is a tie in to the first race weekend of the 2024 season, which starts on Thursday (because it’s a weird Saturday race). Codemasters are actually feeding some content from the new season back into last year’s game, so long as you pre-order this year’s game. Doing so will get you access to the Alpine, Haas, McLaren and Williams 2024 cars and liveries to race in Time Trial challenges in F1 23. They’ll also get the McLaren and Alpine 2023 F1 esports liveries, which will carry forward to F1 24.
If you do pre-order for these bonuses, then F1 2021, F1 22 and F1 23 owners to receive a 15% discount on the pricier Champions Edition of F1 24.
This will be the earliest point within the calendar year that Codemasters has managed to produce their yearly motorsports franchise, with most recent games having landed in June or July around the time of the British Grand Prix. With a 31st May launch, we’ll be just eight races into the twenty-four race season, and with an awful lot of European racing still to do before the summer break.
