Electronic Arts has confirmed that F1 24 will be released on May 31, 2024.
The next entry in Codemasters’ racing series will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, via EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
F1 23 players who pre-order F1 24 Champions Edition by April 24 will be able to participate in Time Trial challenges using the new Alpine, Haas, McLaren, and Williams 2024 team cars prior to this weekend’s opening race of the season.
Until May 31, players who own any of F1 2021, F1 22, or F1 23 will receive a 15% discount when they pre-order F1 24 Champions Edition. Players will also receive the McLaren and Alpine 2023 F1 esports liveries, which will carry over to F1 24.
“For the first time, our F1 23 players can now connect immediately with the 2024 season with some of their favourite teams ahead of this weekend’s first Lights Out,” said Lee Mather, senior creative director at Codemasters.
“Our full reveal is coming soon, and we’re bringing players an overhauled Career mode, a new EA Sports Dynamic Handling System, and so much more.”
EA made a round of layoffs at UK-based Codemasters in December. The move came after the studio’s two most recent releases, last June’s F1 2023 and November’s EA Sports WRC, reportedly struggled commercially.
EA acquired Codemasters for $1.2 billion in 2021, having trumped a previously accepted offer to buy the company from Rockstar owner Take-Two.
