Diablo 4's new public test realm has come just at the right time, improving the mood of the RPG's community greatly as Season 4 appears on the horizon.

For players who have entered the Public Test Realm for Patch 1.4.0, an issue has been discovered that causes the Codex of Power to be reset, removing any progress made by players. After boosting a character to level 100 via the NPC in Kyovashad, the Codex of Power upgrade process will reset to zero. This means that if you have upgraded various Aspects in the Codex and made another character, boosting that character to level 100 will then wipe the Codex to its original state for all characters. Before boosting a character to level 100 vs after boosting a character to level 100. The only way to work around this currently if you wish to have numerous characters is to make all of your alt characters and boost them to level 100 before you start to upgrade Aspects in the Codex of Power. This will prevent a new character from accidentally removing all your progress as you battle your way through the Diablo 4 PTR.

Here are all the new Unique items coming with Diablo 4's Season 4! This list includes a first look at all new General and Class Unique items currently present on the Season 4 Public Test Realm, including the new Uber Unique, Tyrael's Might. Season 4 PTR Datamined Changes Diablo 4 Andariel Boss Model

Datamining for Diablo 4 Season 4 continues with a horrendous (yet friendly?) face being added to the Boss Ladder for Season 4. Is the Maiden of Anguish returning to us with a new haircut? Summoning materials for Uber Andariel will come from Beast in the Ice and Lord Zir, and the Demon Queen will have the same drop table as Duriel.

Blizzard has released new Class Armor Packs for each class in Diablo 4, containing heavily discounted armor sets previously released in Tejal's Shop. Each of these sets, previously released and costing at minimum 1,000 Platinum each, is now available in the bundle with one other set per class for a total amount of 1,000 Platinum — bringing down the overall cost of these sets substantially! Take a look at some of the models below — note that these sets were primarily released in the pre-season launch stage of Diablo 4, so they are some of the oldest released shop sets in the game.

The first Public Test Realm for Diablo 4 is now live, and many players are itching to get their hands on the new content and systems. However, there is yet to be a reveal of Season 4's theme — and there won't be on the PTR itself, according to Blizzard. Diablo 4 PTR Patch 1.4.0 Patch Notes Now Available Diablo 4 PTR Now Live Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora responded to player questions about the Season 4 reveal and that it will not be made known until some time after the PTR goes down. Piepiora went on to add context to the matter in another reply, suggesting that the PTR is squarely focused on huge amount of systems and itemization changes coming to the game. This is fairly understandable considering the scope of Patch 1.4.0. Adding the seasonal content on top of that would split the focus of not only the developers, but the playerbase engaging in the PTR for testing and feedback as well. But the question at this point is: when will the Season 4 reveal be? Diablo 4's 4th Season is confirmed to start on May 14th, and the PTR ends on April 9th. This leaves 35 days between the end of the PTR and the start of Season 4. If Blizzard gives at least a week for the final Patch Notes to be public and some time to prepare after the PTR ends, we could potentially expect the Season 4 reveal to be somewhere near April 30th. However, we do have one slight hint as to what the Season 4 theme could be. During the PTR, this placeholder Season banner was discovered: While this could be easily and most likely be a placeholder name for the Season, the huge reworks to itemization and loot overall does at least lend some credibility towards the general theme the season might be going for.

For players with Diablo 4 preinstalled, this download will use preinstalled assets, significantly reducing the amount needed to load — down to 35GB with high-res assets and 17GB without. New Diablo IV comparison videos were shared online, highlighting the differences ray tracing brings to the latest entry in the series.

Diablo 4 has released update 1.3.5, the highlight of which is the addition of support for Nvidia's ray tracing technology. Although Diablo 4 welcomes ray tracing months after its release, another Nvidia technology has been available since Diablo 4's launch. Specifically, players had already been able to enjoy the DLSS 3 features in Diablo 4, a technology designed to improve aspects such as frame rate during gameplay and resolution on low-end GPUs.

NVIDIA revealed today that the sci-fi first-person shooter/tower defense/base building hybrid game Outpost: Infinity Siege will support DLSS 3 (Frame Generation + Super Resolution) and Reflex at launch.

Blizzard has stated that PTR Patch Notes for Diablo 4 will likely be revealed this Thursday, March 28 — but these patch notes will not include the full list of Season 4 changes. A frequently requested change to Diablo 4’s Enchanting system will be coming in Season 4 – the cost to reroll Gear Affixes at the Occultist will now cap at a certain cost. Blizzard revealed during the latest Campfire Chat that Enchanting costs would be one of the systems receiving an overhaul, no longer scaling to an absurd degree on repeated rerolled pieces of gear. Currently, players looking to reroll an affix on their gear have to pay a continuously scaling gold cost on each reroll.

Blizzard announced upcoming changes to death avoidance on Hardcore Realms in Season 4 during their recent Campfire Chat. Players will no longer have easily accessible cheat death mechanics — which will entirely change the meta in terms of how players approach everything from Nightmare Dungeons to Pinnacle bosses. Some potential changes to Aspects that could be spotted during the Campfire Chat may have also not been included due to the new Codex of Power system shortening descriptions of Aspects, which leads to parts of their description being left out.
