PSA: Boosting a Character to 100 in the Diablo 4 PTR Resets Codex of Power

Jesse Plemons is a brilliant actor. He’s also one of our most memeable stars. It’s not that he’s super expressive — quite the opposite, in fact. He’s usually quite placid, and almost hesitant in his line deliveries. He takes his time. But, whether he’s playing a timid everyman in The Power of the Dog or season 2 of Fargo or a stout lawman in Judas and the Black Messiah orGame Night, there’s always something going on behind his narrowed, watchful eyes. His stillness, his pauses, and his plain, unvarnished way of speaking act as a gravitational force, drawing the camera and other actors into his orbit. He’s also, in a low-key way, extremely funny.

Moon Studios may be known for its hit Metroidvania games, but its new action RPG, No Rest for the Wicked, is now available in early access, and former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra believes its "bold direction" is what the genre needs to "stay relevant."

It turns out the Diablo 4 team didn't quite bring everything to bear in Season 4's Public Test Realm, as there are "a few small" extra items to come at launch.

The Diablo 4 PTR allowed players to jump straight into Sanctuary for a sneak peek at changes coming in Season 4. Everything from new bosses to new itemization was on the table, and enough information was learned to make anyone's head spin. In the upcoming Season 4 of Diablo 4 players will be able to filter by Item Power. Players may use the search bar and enter a number to filter out for that specific Item Power. In addition, when you search for an item with any filter or search query, the number of matching results will appear on the individual Stash Tabs!

Diablo 3 may no longer be the newest ARPG on the block, but that doesn't mean that its fans and developers are done thinking about it. One of its former developers has been discussing the key design decisions that went into it, in fact, and comparing it to 11th Hour Games' Last Epoch, which launched to immediate success back in February, with players quick to point out the similarities between it and the Diablo series. 

As players continue exploring the PTR, the massive itemization changes coming to Diablo 4 in Season 4 are at the forefront of everyone's minds, but here's something you may have missed — Gems have received a refresh in preparation for the upcoming season!Amethyst, Emerald, Sapphire, and Topaz will now grant Primary Stats when socketed into Armor, boosting Strength, Dexterity, Willpower, and Intelligence respectively. With the PTR for Diablo 4's Season 4 ending this Tuesday (4/9), and a handful of important interactions still being bugged and non-playable, some players have rallied behind the desire to extend the PTR to identify and provide feedback on additional bugs. Adam Fletcher, Global Community Development Director, went to X (formerly known as Twitter) to respond to players' curiosity: While some players might feel as if their concerns are being ignored, don't! It's important to recognize there are likely many aspects of gameplay Blizzard is looking for data and feedback on, besides the issues the community is zeroing in on. Many players in the Diablo community have expressed their fondness for the Tree of Whispers as a «town hub», even if it is not considered a town by conventional means. Wowhead community member krismate has found changes to The Lost City of Ureh area during their visit on the Diablo 4 PTR, which was previously blocked off. Blizzard is looking at feedback regarding high Veiled Crystal costs associated with the new Codex of Power in the Diablo 4 PTR, and could be reducing costs in the future. While many materials have received changes in the PTR, in some cases completely overhauling their systems, Veiled Crystal have become a pain point — what was once an incredibly common material has now become much rarer, and high costs are eating through lowered supplies. Blizzard has not committed to a firm change yet, however they've noted that the feedback regarding these Crystals is common.
