The Epic Mega Sale, an annual sale on certain games in the Epic Games Store, has just begun. The discounts and deals will last four weeks — from May 16, starting at 11 am ET, to June 13 at 11 am ET — promising an “enormous range of discounts across the Epic Games Store’s library,” according to PR.

Having brought the likes of Resident Evil’s Nemesis, Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head, Stranger Things' Demogorgon and Alien’s Xenomorph to its one-versus-many game of deadly hide-and-seek, Dead by Daylight is digging back into the vaults for its next classic killer. This time, it’s not horror video games or scary movies serving as inspiration for DBD’s next chapter, but 50-year-old tabletop fantasy RPG Dungeons & Dragons.

A recent tease by Behaviour Interactive has lent credibility to a previous Dead by Daylight leak that claimed Castlevania's version of Dracula is a future Killer. Dead by Daylight has managed to stay successful for so long thanks to regular content updates that add new content to the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game. While all Dead by Daylight content updates are appreciated, the ones that generate the most buzz are those that add new Killers to the game.

Behaviour Interactive has teased a Killer for its next chapter, which leaks have previously stated will be Vecna.

Tencent and Remedy, the developer of Control and Alan Wake, have completely scrapped their joint gaming project codenamed Kestrel, which they have been working on since 2021. The companies were originally developing a free-to-play co-op shooter until they decided to go in a different direction in November last year. They went back to the drawing board, renamed their project from Vanguard to Kestrel and had planned to make a «premium game with a strong, cooperative multiplayer component» instead. Back then, they said their game will «lean more into Remedy's core strengths» and will use repurposed versions of the company's assets and themes. Clearly, though, their partnership wasn't meant to be.

Despite the love it received from core gamers and critics alike, Remedy's recent effort, Alan Wake 2, has yet to make back its development and marketing budget. This surprising situation has plenty of contributing factors, which we first covered in December, but the reality is that sales are soft. No doubt striking while the irons are hot, Chinese multinational holding company Tencent, the largest video game company in the world, has increased its stake in the Finnish developer from 5% to 15%, securing additional shares and voting rights.

This morning, Finnish game developer Remedy Entertainment announced a couple of key changes to its core management team. First and foremost, Chief Operations Officer Christopher Schmitz has resigned and will leave the company on May 31.

Baldur's Gate 3 continues to collect year-end honours as the expansive RPG from Larian Studios took home the top award at the 20th BAFTA Games Awards held in London late Thursday. The Dungeons & Dragons-style RPG was crowned as the Best Game, in addition to winning in four other categories on the night. Finnish games firm Remedy has bought the rights to its smash hit title Control.

Asymmetric horror game Dead by Daylight has added Alan Wake, the protagonist of Remedy Entertainment’s series of the same name, to its roster.

Not content with his starring turns in Fortnite last year, everyone's favourite monologuing horror writer Alan Wake is preparing for another multiplayer crossover, this time making the jump to Behaviour Interative's asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight on 30th January.

Developer Behaviour Interactive is teaming up with Remedy to bring Alan Wake to asymmetrical multiplayer title Dead by Daylight. Alan Wake will join the cast of Dead by Daylight‘s Survivors on January 30, and in the mean time, the character is currently playable in the game’s time-limited public test build on Steam right now. There was quite a bit of anticipation over Alan Wake coming to Dead by Daylight. For a good while now, fans have pleaded with the developers to make this crossover happen. However, it’s finally official as we now know Alan Wake will be the next survivor to land in Dead by Daylight. Best of all, we can expect his arrival at the game later on in the month. So, if you’re a fan of both franchises, this might be a welcomed announcement. 

The first has been released, giving fans a look at the latest iconic survivor to join the game. Wake is set to be added to the game on Tuesday, January 30.
