After two years of hype and eager anticipation, Spider-Man 2 finally launched on the PlayStation 5 to rave reviews in October. While it didn’t take home any honors at The Game Awards 2023, Spider-Man 2 was still well-regarded for updating the open-world gameplay formula of its predecessors and quickly became one of Insomniac’s highest-selling video games.

You know the phrase, “This is why we can’t have anything nice?” Well, that’s the feeling many game developers have felt over the last several years because hackers have come in and tried to ruin things for them in one form or another. You might recall when Rockstar Games was hacked, and alpha-based videos of their upcoming title hit the internet, causing all sorts of backlash when it did. Then, late last year, Insomniac Games was the latest victim of a hack, where a whole bunch of data was revealed about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and future games they might be producing.

Crunchyroll announced the nominees for the 2024 Anime Awards on Wednesday, with the categories populated by several long-running favorites and a number of new premieres. Chainsaw Man dominates the list, with 25 nominations across this year’s 32 award categories, followed by Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season at 17. Oshi No Ko and Demon Slayer’s latest season tied for third place at 12 nominations each.

Despite being one of the best games of 2023 by a large margin and being nominated for tons of awards across multiple sites and shows, it hasn’t exactly been “raking them in.”

The nominations for the 27th annual D.I.C.E (Design Innovate Communicate Entertain) Awards have been announced by The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is leading the pack with a total of nine nominations.
