Diablo's 31st Season, Season of the Forbidden Archives is now available for play! While there isn't much for Patch Notes, this Season is one that is beloved by players. During the Season of the Forbidden Archives, Kanai's Cube will be entirely unrestricted! Diablo 3 Season 31 Patch Notes When selecting Legendary Powers in Kanai's Cube, you will be able to use any combination of Legendary Powers you wish! This means that you will be able to select 3 Weapon Powers, or 2 Jewelry Powers and 1 Armor Power, etc — instead of the standard 1 Weapon, 1 Armor, and 1 Jewelry Power. This restriction being removed allows for many wacky and wild combinations and the reemergence of some incredibly off meta builds.

In the Public Test Realm for Patch 1.4.0 of Diablo 4, countless items, skills, and stats were heavily altered to prepare the game for its fourth Season, as well as to pave the way for the upcoming Vessel of Hatred expansion. In addition to many of these changes, Implicit Affixes on Weapons have been adjusted as well. These are the fixed Affixes that are tied to the Weapon Type that cannot be altered, such as Vulnerable Damage on Crossbows and Critical Strike Damage on Swords. Many of these Affixes have been reduced significantly, and while it hurts to lose damage output from a change like this, it is a necessary change. Reducing these values along with other changes in Itemization will go a long way toward reducing the bloated damage values that affect the game negatively. By allowing players to deal millions upon millions of damage in a single hit, the sense of scale and player power is lost. On top of that, balancing gameplay becomes much more challenging — thus, it's only natural that Implicit Affixes receive some tweaks at the same time as the rest of the Itemization rework.

In the upcoming Season 4 of Diablo 4 players will be able to filter by Item Power. Players may use the search bar and enter a number to filter out for that specific Item Power. In addition, when you search for an item with any filter or search query, the number of matching results will appear on the individual Stash Tabs!

Fresh from our trove of Season 4 PTR datamining, comes a new Rare Elixir with a very unique effect, the Profane Mindcage. The Mindcage increases the Helltide Monster Level by 10 as well as the Abberrant Cinder drop rate and the amount of threat gained. So, theoretically, this Elixir would make Helltides more difficult; this is a welcome improvement, considering how fun the event has become with the Season 4 changes. But that's not at all: What this Elixir might possibly be linked to is the most intriguing piece. While some information leads to a Possible Iron Wolves Season 4 Theme, this Elixir might be related to previously found new items. While there's no direct link between the Elixir and the Iron Wolves, there are breadcrumbs. The new Helltide events feature players assisting the Iron Wolves with cleansing the land of demonic influence as well as «Wolf's Honor» reputation being received for killing certain enemies. It would make sense that these Elixirs have something to do with those events. Further, we've discovered reputation rewards and caches, that subsequently would drop as rewards for completing certain events. The PTR for Diablo 4 Patch 1.4.0 is well underway, and players have been delving into the variety of content to be tested. While the new systems and content have proven to be a nice change of pace for many, some players feel that the rewards from some content leave more to be desired. One such case appears to be the new Tormented Echoes Bosses, which are supercharged level 200 versions of the ladder bosses such as Duriel, Varshan, and the new boss, Andariel. These Super Bosses drop a number of Legendary and Unique items, Summoning Materials for other bosses, and one very important reward — one Resplendent Spark for killing your first Tormented Boss. A number of players have taken issue with the rewards offered by this difficult challenge, and several have taken to social media sites and the PTR forums to address their concerns. Reddit user Oceanfather created a post on the Diablo 4 Subreddit about this topic, mentioning the much steeper material requirement to summon the empowered bosses such as Tormented Grigiore. The problem is, when a boss is slain, they drop the same amount of Shard of Agony as their normal counterpart. This creates a situation where if you wish to get materials to summon Duriel or Andariel, it is currently more economical to repeatedly farm the normal, less challenging, and less rewarding version of these bosses. Blizzard has since responded to the post, stating that there will be some degree of changes coming to the rewards of Tormented Echo Bosses.

Blizzard is looking at feedback regarding high Veiled Crystal costs associated with the new Codex of Power in the Diablo 4 PTR, and could be reducing costs in the future. While many materials have received changes in the PTR, in some cases completely overhauling their systems, Veiled Crystal have become a pain point — what was once an incredibly common material has now become much rarer, and high costs are eating through lowered supplies. Blizzard has not committed to a firm change yet, however they've noted that the feedback regarding these Crystals is common.

These manuals feature up to 4 different affixes available for crafting at the Blacksmith — but only once you've found the actual manual! For players who have entered the Public Test Realm for Patch 1.4.0, an issue has been discovered that causes the Codex of Power to be reset, removing any progress made by players. After boosting a character to level 100 via the NPC in Kyovashad, the Codex of Power upgrade process will reset to zero. This means that if you have upgraded various Aspects in the Codex and made another character, boosting that character to level 100 will then wipe the Codex to its original state for all characters. Before boosting a character to level 100 vs after boosting a character to level 100. The only way to work around this currently if you wish to have numerous characters is to make all of your alt characters and boost them to level 100 before you start to upgrade Aspects in the Codex of Power. This will prevent a new character from accidentally removing all your progress as you battle your way through the Diablo 4 PTR.
