NVIDIA revealed today that the sci-fi first-person shooter/tower defense/base building hybrid game Outpost: Infinity Siege will support DLSS 3 (Frame Generation + Super Resolution) and Reflex at launch.
The game is out now (priced at $24.99) on Steam and receives a 3.3x average performance boost by enabling both DLSS Frame Generation and Super Resolution. At 4K and max graphics settings, the GeForce RTX 4090 users can hit 160 FPS, the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER exceeds 120 FPS, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER tops 110 FPS, and the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER surpasses 100 FPS.
Today, Blizzard has also released the long-awaited Diablo IV ray tracing update. The game already takes advantage of DLSS 3, and now you can truly exploit those extra frames to enjoy better-looking reflections and shadows. Michael Bukowski, Diablo IV Technical Director at Blizzard, said in a statement:
The launch of Diablo IV was just the beginning for us. We are regularly iterating based on player feedback and exploring how we can enhance the visuals and dark atmosphere of the game. The addition of ray-traced effects is our next step in making the brutal world of Sanctuary feel more immersive than ever. Effects like lightning strikes are now reflected in pools of blood and water, dank cellars and dungeons are more foreboding with realistic soft shadows, and the open world and towns are more grounded with additional realistic shadows and reflections. We are very excited for our community to experience this new technology.
Kevin Todisco, Diablo IV Principal Software Engineer at Blizzard, added:
It was great working closely with NVIDIA to bring raytracing to Diablo IV. The experience they have with ray tracing technologies was instrumental in helping us take our ray tracing implementation to production quality, and libraries they offer like RTXMU gave us a valuable boost as we were developing.
Other recently released games featuring NVIDIA technologies include Horizon Forbidden West (a solid PC port with DLSS 3, DLAA, and Reflex), Alone in the Dark (equipped with DLSS 2), and Lightyear Frontier (which supports DLSS 2 and DLAA).
