Andariel Boss Model Datamined for Diablo 4 Season 4

Diablo franchise boss Rod Fergusson reckons Blizzard's long-running action-RPG series would make a great TV show.

It turns out the Diablo 4 team didn't quite bring everything to bear in Season 4's Public Test Realm, as there are "a few small" extra items to come at launch.

Diablo series boss Rod Fergusson knows the time is coming to move on from the PS4 and Xbox One, but says that time ain't now.

Diablo 4 launched summer 2023 across PC and console, including the last generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles. That means it was built to run well on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, hardware now over a decade old.

When Diablo 3 got its pre-Reaper of Souls expansion patch dubbed 'loot 2.0' in 2014, it was credited with turning Blizzard’s action role-playing game around. Critics and players called loot 2.0 a big improvement on Diablo 3, with changes that sparked renewed interest from a community that had dropped off following the base game’s 2012 release. Now, 10 years later, Blizzard is aiming to repeat the trick with Diablo 4 Season 4.

The upcoming season of Diablo 4 has implemented changes in everything from itemization to class balance, and crafting systems are no different. Elixir changes were revealed on the PTR, and we're seeing a big upgrade to existing Elixirs and two brand-new Elixirs! All previous versions of Elixirs have been replaced with versions that provide materials on use (such as Potent Elixir of Cold Resistance), and there are now just two tiers per Elixir (i.e.

Diablo 3 may no longer be the newest ARPG on the block, but that doesn't mean that its fans and developers are done thinking about it. One of its former developers has been discussing the key design decisions that went into it, in fact, and comparing it to 11th Hour Games' Last Epoch, which launched to immediate success back in February, with players quick to point out the similarities between it and the Diablo series. 

For fresh characters just getting to Kyovashad in Season 4 of Diablo 4, they may find the skies begin to turn red at times — Helltides are making an appearance. Helltides are on the horizon for players in World Tier 1 and 2! While this isn't the greatest thing for the long term health and safety of the denizens of Sanctuary, this is quite a boon for Wanderers looking to spice up their leveling experience. With all the changes coming in Season 4, the early game experience for many players will be entirely revamped. Players have been able to experience the scaled-down Helltides in the PTR, and it's been noted that not only are they significantly safer for lower-level characters, they're excellent for experience as well. One of the Diablo 4 devs has revealed that rewards for Tormented Bosses will be tweaked before the release of Season 4. Diablo 4 is in Season 3, which has introduced players to the new villain Malphas, new quests, enemies, and the long-awaited debut of the Gauntlet and Leaderboards. But Diablo 4 players' attention is currently focused on the upcoming season and all the hype surrounding it.

The PTR for Diablo 4 Patch 1.4.0 is well underway, and players have been delving into the variety of content to be tested. While the new systems and content have proven to be a nice change of pace for many, some players feel that the rewards from some content leave more to be desired. One such case appears to be the new Tormented Echoes Bosses, which are supercharged level 200 versions of the ladder bosses such as Duriel, Varshan, and the new boss, Andariel. These Super Bosses drop a number of Legendary and Unique items, Summoning Materials for other bosses, and one very important reward — one Resplendent Spark for killing your first Tormented Boss. A number of players have taken issue with the rewards offered by this difficult challenge, and several have taken to social media sites and the PTR forums to address their concerns. Reddit user Oceanfather created a post on the Diablo 4 Subreddit about this topic, mentioning the much steeper material requirement to summon the empowered bosses such as Tormented Grigiore. The problem is, when a boss is slain, they drop the same amount of Shard of Agony as their normal counterpart. This creates a situation where if you wish to get materials to summon Duriel or Andariel, it is currently more economical to repeatedly farm the normal, less challenging, and less rewarding version of these bosses. Blizzard has since responded to the post, stating that there will be some degree of changes coming to the rewards of Tormented Echo Bosses.
