Diablo 4's Global Community Development Director, Adam Fletcher has announced that the development team will be hosting a live stream to address player feedback from the recent Season 4 PTR.
Diablo 3 may no longer be the newest ARPG on the block, but that doesn't mean that its fans and developers are done thinking about it. One of its former developers has been discussing the key design decisions that went into it, in fact, and comparing it to 11th Hour Games' Last Epoch, which launched to immediate success back in February, with players quick to point out the similarities between it and the Diablo series.
In Season 4 of Diablo 4, players will gain access to the Pit of Artificers, a new Endgame mechanic which pits players against the clock while fighting hordes of monsters. Slay enough in time, and you'll gain access to the final boss at the end — a mechanic incredibly similar in form to Diablo 3's Greater Rifts. This content shares a feature that punishes player deaths as well, however this penalty seems to be particularly unforgiving in Diablo 4.
Tired of running Domhainne Tunnels? Chances are good you’re not the only one. Thankfully, Raxxanterax has been hard at work testing an updated leveling strategy for Diablo 4 Season 4 that may surprise you — Helltides. According to Raxxanterax's research, leveling up in Helltides will be roughly 30% faster than sticking to the old “Dopamine Tunnels'' leveling strategy while being more fun, more social, and far more lucrative in terms of gold, gear, and crafting materials.
For fresh characters just getting to Kyovashad in Season 4 of Diablo 4, they may find the skies begin to turn red at times — Helltides are making an appearance. Helltides are on the horizon for players in World Tier 1 and 2! While this isn't the greatest thing for the long term health and safety of the denizens of Sanctuary, this is quite a boon for Wanderers looking to spice up their leveling experience. With all the changes coming in Season 4, the early game experience for many players will be entirely revamped. Players have been able to experience the scaled-down Helltides in the PTR, and it's been noted that not only are they significantly safer for lower-level characters, they're excellent for experience as well. Raid Boss Coming to Helltide in Season 4 Possible Iron Wolves Season 4 Theme
Fresh from our trove of Season 4 PTR datamining, comes a new Rare Elixir with a very unique effect, the Profane Mindcage. The Mindcage increases the Helltide Monster Level by 10 as well as the Abberrant Cinder drop rate and the amount of threat gained. So, theoretically, this Elixir would make Helltides more difficult; this is a welcome improvement, considering how fun the event has become with the Season 4 changes. But that's not at all: What this Elixir might possibly be linked to is the most intriguing piece. While some information leads to a Possible Iron Wolves Season 4 Theme, this Elixir might be related to previously found new items. While there's no direct link between the Elixir and the Iron Wolves, there are breadcrumbs. The new Helltide events feature players assisting the Iron Wolves with cleansing the land of demonic influence as well as «Wolf's Honor» reputation being received for killing certain enemies. It would make sense that these Elixirs have something to do with those events. Further, we've discovered reputation rewards and caches, that subsequently would drop as rewards for completing certain events. Within this list is the Disgusting Box, which directly mentions the Mindcage Rare Elixir. Looking for more information on the Season 4 PTR Datamining? Check out the links below:
One of the Diablo 4 devs has revealed that rewards for Tormented Bosses will be tweaked before the release of Season 4. Diablo 4 is in Season 3, which has introduced players to the new villain Malphas, new quests, enemies, and the long-awaited debut of the Gauntlet and Leaderboards. But Diablo 4 players' attention is currently focused on the upcoming season and all the hype surrounding it.
Wowhead community member krismate has found changes to The Lost City of Ureh area during their visit on the Diablo 4 PTR, which was previously blocked off. We have made our way to the Lost CIty of Ureh and compared the changes from the live servers to the PTR, including everything that got added to the area. Possible Iron Wolves Season 4 Theme Patch 1.4.0 PTR Datamined Changes
Diablo 4's new public test realm has come just at the right time, improving the mood of the RPG's community greatly as Season 4 appears on the horizon.
The first Public Test Realm for Diablo 4 is now live, and many players are itching to get their hands on the new content and systems. However, there is yet to be a reveal of Season 4's theme — and there won't be on the PTR itself, according to Blizzard. Diablo 4 PTR Patch 1.4.0 Patch Notes Now Available Diablo 4 PTR Now Live Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora responded to player questions about the Season 4 reveal and that it will not be made known until some time after the PTR goes down. Piepiora went on to add context to the matter in another reply, suggesting that the PTR is squarely focused on huge amount of systems and itemization changes coming to the game. This is fairly understandable considering the scope of Patch 1.4.0. Adding the seasonal content on top of that would split the focus of not only the developers, but the playerbase engaging in the PTR for testing and feedback as well. But the question at this point is: when will the Season 4 reveal be? Diablo 4's 4th Season is confirmed to start on May 14th, and the PTR ends on April 9th. This leaves 35 days between the end of the PTR and the start of Season 4. If Blizzard gives at least a week for the final Patch Notes to be public and some time to prepare after the PTR ends, we could potentially expect the Season 4 reveal to be somewhere near April 30th. However, we do have one slight hint as to what the Season 4 theme could be. During the PTR, this placeholder Season banner was discovered: While this could be easily and most likely be a placeholder name for the Season, the huge reworks to itemization and loot overall does at least lend some credibility towards the general theme the season might be going for.
No Rest for the Wicked, the Diablo-esque action RPG in the works at Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps studio Moon, won't be $70. CEO Thomas Mahler says the game's price point is down to the nature of the team, their shared stance on the rising price of games, and the notable lack of shareholders pawing at the company's books.
Blizzard is making numerous changes to Diablo 4 in Season 4, with a Public Test Realm going live on April 2nd for PC players to try them out. The crafting and itemization changes have already been detailed, but according to the PTR notes, changes to Helltides are also coming.
