New Diablo IV comparison videos were shared online, highlighting the differences ray tracing brings to the latest entry in the series.
The videos, which were shared on YouTube by MxBenchmarkPC and Frozburn, highlight how ray tracing doesn't make a big difference, as the improvements are barely noticeable in some scenarios. Additionally, the hit on performance is big on both RTX 4080 and 4090 GPUs, so it seems like there's no real reason to turn ray tracing on in the game except to look at it for a few minutes.
The latest Diablo IV update introduced ray tracing on consoles as well, alongside other visual improvements, such as higher Ambient Occlusion quality, enhanced Contact Shadows, and more. As the game targets 30 frames per second on consoles with ray tracing, there's little doubt that the Enhanced Visual mode won't be very popular.
Diablo IV is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. Learn more about the game with Alessio's review.
Diablo IV is a return to form at a much needed time for Blizzard. It delivers incredibly fun hack and slash action combat, a greatly improved skill system, and a ton of things to do, not to mention the best story told in the franchise yet. It also looks awesome, sounds great, and runs well (except for rare instances of traversal stuttering). That said, it sticks a little bit too closely to the rulebook, which works against it in a few areas. The open world is not as dynamic as one could have hoped, with events getting repetitive rather quickly. The side content doesn't provide any real narrative juice, and the endgame replayability may not be as deep as needed due to limited randomization and lack of certain features.

Sony will brand games with a PS5 Pro «Enhanced» label if they go the extra mile to support its upgraded machine, a new Insider Gaming report claims. PS5 Pro specs have been the subject of numerous leaks over recent months, and the last couple of weeks in particular have shed a great deal of light on alleged details on the rumoured mid-gen console refresh. But with supposed enhancements like its proprietary supersampling tech dubbed PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling (or PSSR), 45 percent faster rendering, and more, how exactly is Sony hoping developers will take advantage of the console’s more powerful hardware?
