If you want to break rocks or defeat powerful enemies, you must use a Bomb Flower in . While there are a limited number of Bomb Flowers available to gather, there is a way to farm them from specific locations. Bomb Flowers are particularly handy as they explode on impact and are best used against tough bosses and areas blocked by breakable rocks.

The side quest in sees you fuse unexpected parts together to complete an unorthodox weapon. This mission leads to a rare reward as Link decorates an instrument of war to honor an NPC's mentor. The instructions for this quest can be tricky to figure out, but those who listen carefully to the wording of the request will figure it out quickly.

The next title should revive a traditional mechanic that has gone ignored in recent games. Both can be considered a celebration of the franchise as a whole; they include hundreds of references to previous titles, and even revive and reinvent classic enemies to be scarier than ever before. There are a wide variety of enemies in , but among the strangest is a group of aliens with real-life inspiration. monsters come in a wide variety, including both unique entities like Deku Scrubs and more generic enemies like dragons. In addition to this, some monsters are extremely creepy, or even genuinely scary, with overall impressions varying depending on the tone of a given game.

Both and its predecessor, have many creative and challenging puzzles for Link to try his hand at inside the shrines throughout Hyrule. These shrines offer ways for new skills to be introduced to players and take the place of some of the game mechanics that were handled by dungeons in other entries in the series. While dungeons would give a much larger and more involved place for these abilities to be used, the shrines are often designed to be very short examples to show how Link can utilize that skill in the overworld.

The series of ancient murals uncovered in actually reveal much of the main story long before Link otherwise learns the truth of what is happening. However, this is only truly noticeable in retrospect, with all the context needed to understand the murals. Nevertheless, through careful examination of the scenes illustrated under Hyrule Castle, it is possible to immediately deduce much of ’s plot.

The main boss of the Fire Temple in is The Marbled Gohma, a huge cyclops made of fire and lava that can be a challenge to beat. Link has a friend they can call upon for this battle that could be the key to your success. With the boss having a single weakness you can exploit, there are plenty of ways to overcome this literal trial by fire.

Wild Greens are an elusive item in while trying to complete a tricky side quest Link may come across while exploring Hyrule. Needed to heal a sick NPC, this plant is never described to give you an idea of what you want. The lack of detail for this mission prevents you from figuring out exactly which type of plant Link must harvest out of the many growing in the world.

Although does tell a coherent and compelling story, there also seems to be a plot hole regarding Link at the very heart of Hyrule’s latest troubles. Of course, not everything about makes perfect sense — the timeline is notoriously confusing and convoluted. However, one aspect of ’s usage of Link seems to conflict with the franchise’s established canon in a way that heavily impacts the game’s narrative.

Although the King of Evil is generally known by the name of Ganondorf (or Ganon) alone, ’s most famous antagonist does in fact have a last name. The series is packed full of lore, but not every aspect of Hyrule is explained within the games themselves. Occasionally, people must turn to tie-in material and other such sources to get all the answers, sources which (among other things) reveal Ganondorf’s full name.

is a phenomenal game, with a plethora of features that in any other game would be undeniable highlights — such as the buildable vehicles and other contraptions from Zonai Devices. While these devices are plentiful and varied in, there is still plenty of room for improvement, and a number of excellent additions could be made to maximize the efficiency of, and entertainment that can be experienced with Zonai Devices.

Although the final boss battle in is incredible – arguably even better than 's ending – the game occasionally hints that there’s going to be a monumentally significant battle for Hyrule. However, this battle, disappointingly, does not manifest. Though this would be dissatisfying in isolation, it is made even more so by the Memories that show Ganondorf commanding an assault on Hyrule.

While exploring Hyrule in , you will eventually come across a species of cyclops bosses called a Hinox. These ogre-like bosses are often found sleeping and only awaken once Link gets too close. However, much like, Hinoxes are quite powerful foes that aren't easy to beat. You will come across regular Hinoxes, Blue Hinoxes, skeletal Stalnoxes, and the powerful Black Hinoxes throughout Hyrule.

Although has followed in ’s footsteps to create another awe-inspiring adventure, both titles also seem to ignore a crucial aspect of the franchise’s lore. Over the course of its nearly forty-year history, has gradually built up both the Kingdom of Hyrule and other related settings with tales of heroes, monsters, and magic. Of course, not every detail has remained consistent across every title, but certain omissions in the latest entries are more noticeable than most.

When the next entry in series arrives, the title arguably deserves a change in its main villain. Different forms of Ganon – and his Gerudo form, Ganondorf – have been the final boss of and before it, each an immense game in their own right. However, the next title may well be a better game if it has a different villain pulling the strings.

Link’s battle against Ganondorf is the climax of , but it is a surprisingly uneven contest. When examining the circumstances in which the two cross swords, it becomes clear that they are not on equal terms, and that the fight itself is remarkably unfair. This gives an intriguing new perspective on the ending of , suggesting that events could have gone very differently under other circumstances.

There are many ways that has helped to shape the series, but its gameplay is arguably not what will be the most significant going forward. can learn much from and , from the developments in the two games’ presentation and the many new features they have produced. Nevertheless, ’s greatest aspect (and by extension, ’s) is something entirely different.
