Steam has unveiled the winners of its annual fan-voted awards. Headlining the categories is the Game of the Year award, which predictably went to Baldur’s Gate 3. Although has a decent variety of weapons, one particular type of weapon feels like an afterthought compared to the rest — the melee weapons. Like other Bethesda RPGs before it, offers players the option to choose between a number of different melee or ranged weapons which, in combination with the game's Skill system, should allow them to define a certain play style for their character. Unfortunately, 's melee weapons are monotonous, one-note, and unsatisfying to use, with different melee weapon types being hardly distinguishable from each other outside pure numbers.

The one thing you'll always need in is a trusty set of armor to keep yourself safe from the many dangers of the Settled Systems. Spacesuits in are more than just stylish outerwear; they're essential to keeping you safe in the most extreme of environments. Tracking down the game's best armor sets isn't always easy, but having a sturdy spacesuit with a good mix of stats gives you a crucial advantage in combat and exploration.

is a pretty expansive space game with many different ways for people to earn credits. From selling looted goods to mining valuable natural resources and turning them over for a profit, there's certainly a plethora of ways to earn credits in the game. Sadly, one seemingly minor gameplay mechanic that has been a mainstay in many Bethesda titles, like and, is holding people back from truly accumulating wealth and becoming the most powerful and influential person across the Settled Systems.

Bethesda's space-faring action RPG sets itself apart by being on a much grander scale than the company's prior games, with whole worlds to visit and spaceships to pilot through the stars. Its universe offers so much to explore and do, and even gives opportunities to customize ships in many ways. In a setting as large as outer space itself, the vast open world aspects of the adventure can be incredible, yet there is one noticeable exception to the game's activities that could have made exploration even more limitless and engaging.

is just more fun when played out of order. Of course, as an open-world, at times sandbox-like RPG, there's no one single, inevitable order in which everyone will experience its content. Most will take it in whatever way they like. Do a little of the main story, get embroiled in 's faction quests, see a pretty planet and get distracted, start an outpost there and forget everything else until it's up and running, so on and so forth. There are a million ways to play the game, and once the tutorial is completed, almost nothing to prevent anyone from going anywhere they want.

The scale of is nothing to sneeze at, but among all of its varied planets and ecosystems, one particular feature doesn't crop up very often. This wasn't the role Toufexis was originally hired for, however. The actor revealed that he and fellow voice actress Cissy Jones, who voices romanceable party member Andreja, were originally hired to voice Starfield's protagonist.

But there's a whole other group of players out there taking matters into their own hands — the team behind the Starfield Community Patch, an ambitious and surprisingly professional taskforce trying to fix the game themselves. The project came under the spotlight about a month before Starfield released. It was wild to think that a group of modders could already be working on a mod for Starfield before it had even released, but there they were — anticipating the Bethesda jank fans have come to expect.

The best quest in is "," and nothing else even comes close. This fully optional, almost totally insular side quest focuses on a group of cloned historical figures, who have been revived as part of an experimental program. Featuring most prominently are 32nd US president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Mongol Empire founder Genghis Khan, first-century queen of Kush Amanirenas, and world-famous aviator Amelia Earhart. Once they land on the planet, the player character is forced to pick a side in the clones' conflict.

is a massive game, touting over 100 different star systems and 1,000 planets in its enormous scope. Sadly, since the game launched, many have complained that while expansive, the Settled Systems in feel empty, making its thousand planets far less appealing and impressive. Recently, however, it's been revealed by an ex-Bethesda employee that early in the game's development, conversations took place that may have resulted in a completely different game.
