may not restrict the number of factions players are able to join, but in the end, it forces them to make a definitive choice between the Crimson Fleet and United Colonies. The UC are basically space cops, and the Fleet are more akin to space robbers. More accurately, the Crimson Fleet is a loosely organized coalition of pirates, while the militarized UC regulates interstellar trade, punishing smuggling and theft severely. Each faction comes with its own reward, but one is clearly the better the option.
It's technically possible to join all the factions in , but eventually, their questlines may run up against each other. Nowhere in the game is that more readily apparent than in the conflict between UC and the Crimson Fleet. It's actually required to join both of these factions to progress in either of their quests, but during the Crimson Fleet mission «Legacy's End,» the player character is finally made to pick a side. Their stories intersect in many places, and by the time that quest begins, the objectives for either side are more or less exactly the same. They only differ in their rewards and their impact on the wider galaxy, so that's what the final decision should be based on.
In the interest of money, loot, and a well-equipped spaceship, it's better to side with the Crimson Fleet over UC SysDef in . No matter who they side with, the player character will be rewarded with 250,000 credits, 350 XP, and the unique weapon of whichever faction leader they had to fight at the end of the Crimson Fleet/SysDef quest line. Since the quests are largely the same, the only major thing this affects is which faction epilogue plays out during 's ending.
However, each of those questlines also has a unique reward, and the Crimson Fleet's is much better. For completing the UC faction quests, the player character gets a free house in . For completing Crimson Fleet, they get access to the pirate base at The Key. Houses are fine but the Well penthouse gained from UC quests is little more than two sad, bare rooms. Of course, these can be customized, but there are far better places on the market. It's also important to remember that houses have nothing on Outposts, which can make easy money in . They're also highly customizable — it's even possible to build a better house on an Outpost.
A half-rusted space station housing a pirates' den of debauchery might not sound quite as fantastical or aspirational as the dream of homeownership, but The Key is a far more practical resource than the cramped, drab apartment offered at the end of UC's questline. It provides the player character with a reliable place to sell stolen goods and contraband in , which can be hard to come by in UC-controlled space. Also located on The Key is an

Thanks to the popularity of the Steam Deck, it's no surprise that we've seen a multitude of manufacturers jump on the handheld gaming PC bandwagon. They have all released competing devices, each with their own take on the form factor and each hoping to carve out its own segment of this new emerging market. Now it's MSI's turn to show off its new handheld gaming device, and well, it's called the Claw.
When looking to do a second playthrough of Rockstar's cowboy classic , the honor system should be on players' minds as they determine whether Arthur Morgan will be good or bad. Deciding on a morally upstanding outlaw who does bad for good reasons or a heartless killer who revels in the crimes he commits is the key choice here. Each has its benefits (though one side vastly outweighs the other), and must be considered when starting up the game and journeying into Colter for the second time around.

offers many opportunities to choose sides in a conflict, and befriending Mathis Castillo is one of those choices. The player character may join the Crimson Fleet for any number of reasons, either on their own or as part of an infiltration mission for 's United Colonies faction, and will be paired up with Mathis on an important mission.

One overlooked feature could easily save players thousands of gold, if they would only learn to manipulate it. There's plenty to buy and plenty to sell in the Forgotten Realms, and the flow of commerce all centers on 's diverse range of merchants. They're quite a departure from the usual RPG approach to shopping: instead of carrying the same inventory of generic potions and tools, with incrementally improving weapons and armor as the game goes on, many merchants have inventories full of rare, one-of-a-kind items. They're a reliable source of gear, and always worth checking when the party arrives in a new town.
True Soul Nere is one of the many characters in that adventurers can interact with. In the Underdark in Act 1, players will have the choice of killing Nere, letting Nere die, or saving him from his fate after a cave-in leaves him trapped with poisonous gas. As with most decisions in, there are various outcomes depending on which route is taken. However, one outcome seems to be better overall — but it does come with a small caveat that lower-level characters should know. This is becausedeciding to kill or free Nere will result in various fights, depending on what choices are made.
