While many Overwatch 2 fans are still getting to grips with the new map introduced this season, one player has come across a hidden room found near one of the spawn locations while exploring the new Hanaoka map. Season 10 has brought a significant amount of content to Overwatch 2, including the new damage hero, Venture, the limited-time Mirrorwatch event, as well as a wealth of new skins. Season 10 also brought in a trial version of the upcoming Clash mode for players to try out before it's officially added to the game later on.

Blizzard is hiring for an unannounced game! Although lacking identifying details, not even clarifying whether it is a brand new or existing IP, there are notices for several high level positions, including creative director, narrative director, and principal animator. Of course, this doesn't mean the game is guaranteed to become a reality. Project Titan was famously cancelled after more than 7 years of development, though Overwatch was born from its ashes just two years later.

Gaming is filled with jargon that sounds like complete nonsense to anyone not totally plugged into the space. Terms like Metroidvania and rouguelike/roguelite are rough enough, but when we abbreviate terms, it can be impossible to figure out what they mean, even when said in context. DPS is a term first used mainly in MMORPGs, but it has found its way into other genres like hero shooters and single-player RPGs, among others. It can, and is, applied to just about every game involving combat of some sort. If you’ve heard people complaining about their DPS, or see it listed as part of a weapon’s stats, here’s what it all means.

Following the news that Helldivers 2 on PC will soon require a PlayStation Network account to play, the community reacted by review bombing the Steam page. Whereas the game previously enjoyed a Very Positive aggregate user score, it has now dropped to Mixed for overall reviews and Mostly Negative for recent reviews. In the span of a few hours, over 57K negative reviews have been left for Helldivers 2 on Steam.

Overwatch 2 recently announced some huge buffs to the tank role, as well as targeted buffs to Wrecking Ball and Junker Queen, coming in the mid-Season 10 patch. This hero balance and more will arrive with the Overwatch 2 Season 10 halfway point update planned for May 14.

However, this week, I want to look ahead to our midseason update and discuss some changes we have on the way for the Tank role.

Blizzard has recently implemented an Overwatch 2 update, which includes nerfs to Orisa's Fortify and Javelin Spin abilities, as well as to Venture's Smart Excavator, Drill Dash, and Tectonic Shock abilities. This update aims to refine gameplay dynamics and ensure a balanced experience, while also addressing some Overwatch 2 bugs to ensure smoother gameplay for players across all platforms.

Today Christie Golden, writer, author, and storyteller, announced on Twitter that she is no longer an employee at Blizzard and was let go in the last round of layoffs. Golden has been working on Blizzard IPs for over 25 years, the last 6+ directly as an employee on Blizzard's Story & Franchise Development Team. While never an employee on the World of Warcraft team directly, Golden contributed cinematic scripts and short stories for the franchise while at Blizzard. Several Overwatch 2 players have reported an issue where they seem to be put in lobbies filled with bots instead of fellow human players. Although players cannot be sure whether they are playing with actual bots or players who are willingly trying to lose their matches, this matchmaking issue in Overwatch 2 prevents players from fully enjoying Blizzard’s FPS.

Though he has only recently joined the fight in Overwatch 2, Mauga is a hero that fans had been aware of for years prior to his appearance as a playable character, and some of his early concepts still have the potential to appear in the game as skins for the Samoan tank hero. Though Mauga still hasn't got all that many cosmetics available to him in Overwatch 2 due to his relatively recent addition to the game, many fans feel this is all the more reason Blizzard should consider giving him some new outfits based on the character's popular early concepts.

World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch maker Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that BlizzCon 2024 will not be happening.

Blizzard Entertainment has canceled this year’s fan convention BlizzCon, which was expected to be held in Anaheim, California in November. The company, which is now owned by Microsoft, announced the cancelation on Thursday, but promised to bring the event back “in future years.”

Following the introduction of a whole new currency to Overwatch 2 with the release of its tenth season, one fan of the game shares an odd bug which causes a spray item to cost Mythic Prisms rather than credits, resulting in the usually inexpensive cosmetic item surpassing the cost of an entire Mythic skin. Overwatch 2's new Mythic Prism currency allows players to purchase any of the Mythic skins introduced to the game so far, and can be obtained from the premium battle pass as well as via optional microtransactions.

Overwatch 2 has unveiled the 12 heroes who will have their abilities remixed for the new limited-time Mirrorwatch mode. Season 10 of Overwatch 2 has recently begun, adding the first new DPS hero since Sojourn, Venture, a drill-wielding excavator who can burrow underground and pop out from under opponents for big damage. The tenth season also made all previous mythic hero skins available in the in-game shop and lets players test out the new Clash game mode on its dedicated Hanaoka map.

Although Hanamura doesn't appear in regular Quick Play or Competitive playlists, along with all other Overwatch 2 maps that are part of the old Assault game mode, these levels have nonetheless existed in the game since launch and are accessible via either the Arcade game mode or through custom games.

Like many other multiplayer games, Overwatch 2isn't immune from cheaters. And it's not only an issue on PC, where cheaters use tools like aimbots. Some folks use XIM devices so they can play with a keyboard and mouse (KBM) on consoles. This is against Blizzard's rules, as KBM players typically have an aim advantage over those who use a controller, even though the console versions of the game have features like aim assist. While it's taken some time to get the ball rolling, the developer is finally doing something about the XIM problem.

The Overwatch 2 developers at Blizzard are taking action against players using unapproved peripherals on consoles, such as mouse and keyboard. This particular issue has been affecting the Overwatch 2 community since launch, as keyboard and mouse players on consoles gain a significant advantage against controller users in Quick Play and Competitive.

Blizzard has released a hotfix for Overwatch 2 to fix a Season 10 bug impacting Genji's ability to wall climb. Each Overwatch 2 season introduces fresh changes to the game, including new cosmetics, maps, or heroes, but Season 10 has caused some issues for Genji mains.

Season 10 of Overwatch 2 is finally here, and while it does pack plenty of goodies for players, the new Mythic Prism currency it introduces has fans disappointed due to the considerably high prices players will have to pay to obtain them. Overwatch 2 season 10 is now live, with a few important changes to how Blizzard is monetizing the game. Most notably, the hero shooter’s new hero Venture is free for all players, and no longer locked behind the battle pass. Overwatch 2’s battle pass now also pays out multiple kinds of currency, including the premium paid currency known as Overwatch Coins and a new type of currency called Mythic Prisms, which players can spend on mythic-tier skins.

Overwatch 2 players have been left confused after discovering that using swear words while playing the game can potentially get their accounts suspended, as Blizzard customer service reiterates that "profanity has never been allowed in our games."

Overwatch 2, Season 10, entitled “Venture Forth” arrives tomorrow and Blizzard has fully spelled out what it will entail. Mirrorwatch, the reversed reality game mode coming in Overwatch 2 Season 10, will be taking place from April 23 through May 13. Overwatch 2 Season 10 is a particularly exciting season for the hero shooter for a number of reasons. The headlining new addition in Overwatch 2 Season 10 is the long-awaited debut of brand-new Damage hero Venture.

Season 10 of Overwatch 2 will be a big one for Blizzard’s free-to-play shooter. It will introduce a new hero in Venture, a new damage-class addition to the roster, and the first taste of a brand-new game mode, Clash. We’re also getting a very evil-looking Mercy.

Many of the maps in Overwatch 2 draw inspiration from real-world locations, and it is exciting to see one of the game’s fans pay tribute to one of these locations in a detailed piece of fan art.

Blizzard is giving the heroes and villains of Overwatch new allegiances in season 10 of Overwatch 2, thanks to a new Mirrorwatch mode coming to the competitive hero shooter. That means heroic versions of baddies like Widowmaker, Doomfist, and Sombra, and villainous versions of good guys Reinhardt, Tracer, and Brigitte.

Blizzard is taking mid-match leaves on Overwatch 2 more seriously and is implementing harsher punishments when Season 10 arrives. People playing Unranked games won't be able to join a queue for five minutes after leaving two of their last 20 games. And if they leave at least 10 out of the last 20, they'll be suspended for 48 hours. Players probably want to be even more careful when it comes to leaving Competitive games, though, because doing so 10 times out of 20 will get them banned for the rest of the season. In its announcement, Blizzard said that while it's aware not everyone abandons a game on purpose, these changes «should help curb those players who deliberately choose to leave a match.»

The Guardians of the Last City in Destiny 2 have a new ally in the form of Tracer, a member of the famed hero organization Overwatch, thanks to one player's customized costume. The Destiny 2 customization was created by using the game's suite of armor and shader options.

A new patch for Overwatch 2 rolled out Monday that promises a “really, really, really balanced” version of the game. That patch landed on April Fools’ Day, of course, bringing back googly-eyed heroes and a sweeping set of changes to characters’ abilities. It’s a chance for Overwatch 2 players to have a week’s worth of chaotic fun, and for Blizzard to test out some secretly very good tweaks to the game.

Overwatch fans eagerly wait for the release of the April Fools Update every year, and the event is back with some hilarious changes. The Overwatch 2 event is well-known for the googly eyes as well as the comical voice lines, but fans look forward to the ability changes the most.

Overwatch 2 players have created a new custom game mode to recreate Overwatch 1's signature 6v6 matches within the game. Overwatch 2 Season 10 kicks off next month, but if you want to try out the season’s hew hero Venture early, you can do it this weekend. Venture, who Blizzard is touting at their first non-binary character, is a Damage hero and, overall, one of the more unique-looking characters Blizzard has served up thus far. Basically, they can burrow under the ground ala Bugs Bunny (or Mario in his Drill Suit I suppose) allowing them to sneak behind enemy lines then burst out to deal damage. Marvel Rivals was announced earlier today, and unless you've lived under a rock over the past decade, you'll notice that it shares a pretty uncanny resemblance to Overwatch. Both titles sharing the same genre was always going to draw those comparisons, but there seems to be even more similarities when you take a closer look at the game's roster.

Earlier today, developer NetEase Games revealed Marvel Rivals, their take on the hero shooter genre that Overwatch popularized, but with actual heroes. Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man and many more classic superheroes will compete in 6v6 battles across a variety of maps, duking it out to stop Doctor Doom and his 2099 counterpart from taking over the multiverse. During the gameplay trailer for Venture, Overwatch 2 teased a new map that seemingly revisits the Temple of Anubis in a brand-new way. This could indicate Overwatch 2 is planning to add a new version of this iconic battlefield – potentially as early as Season 10.

Overwatch 2's 40th hero, Venture, will be playable for a limited-time trial running from March 28 through March 31.

PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for the month of April are Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends, and Skul: The Hero Slayer, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on Wednesday. Players can download the trio of games beginning Tuesday, April 2.

The next hero coming to Overwatch 2, Venture, will be playable this weekend for free as part of a limited-time trial that will run from March 28-31, Blizzard Entertainment announced Wednesday. Access to Venture will be free for all players, giving everyone a taste of their kit, which Blizzard also revealed in full.

Marvel Rivals, a new team-based, 6v6 PVP shooter filled to the brim with Marvel characters, has been officially revealed following plenty of rumors and leaks. Developed by NetEase Games with collaboration from Marvel Games, the free-to-play PC game has everyone from Iron Man to Black Panther to Spider-Man to Storm.

Overwatch 2 might be working on introducing new types of Mythic cosmetics besides skins. While Overwatch 2 hasn’t confirmed anything yet, a recent interview response seemed to suggest these customizations were a distinct possibility.

Overwatch 2 is considering changing how the DPS passive works for Tanks in the future. While it seems satisfied with the new healing penalty in general, Overwatch 2 may eventually make it less severe on Tanks to ensure they can fulfill their roles more easily.

An industry insider has hinted at the possibility of a Marvel hero shooter, inspired by popular multiplayer games like Overwatch and Valorant, being in the works at NetEase. Mostly known for its publishing work, NetEase has helped release titles like Naraka: Bladepointand Sky: Children of the Light in the past. This wouldn't be the first Marvel game it's worked on either, as it has developed two smaller titles in 2019's Marvel Super War and 2020's Marvel Duel.

Developers working on Overwatch 2 are not receiving any of their profit-sharing bonuses in March.

Blizzard has confirmed it'll no longer be locking the playable Heroes of Overwatch 2 behind Battles Passes, with all past characters obtained this way and future ones unlocked for every player from the beginning of Season 10. The new Hero Venture will be available immediately for all players when Season 10 starts next month, with the only requirement being that newcomers must complete the first-time user experience.

At this point, Overwatch 2 has become notorious for its expensive cosmetics. To put it into perspective, that's $5 more than the price of the original Overwatch's standard edition back before the free-to-play sequel replaced it.

It's a great day for free-to-play Overwatch 2 players, but not so much for those who've been spending money on the first-person shooter to get access to new heroes as soon as possible. Blizzard has confirmed that from Season 10 onwards, new playable characters will be distributed to everyone instantly, preventing paying players from accessing new heroes faster than free-to-play users.
