After being shut out at The Game Awards, Spider-Man 2 will hope to have better luck at the upcoming DICE Awards, which it leads with nine nominations.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has announced the nominees for next month’s 27th annual DICE Awards.

When Old School RuneScape player IcarusLives made a new character on the MMO, they had just one plan in mind: farming. Tekken 8 trailers continue to come out, with the latest being the gameplay reveal trailer for Panda. The trailer dubs Panda as the Pretty Protector. This is not the first time we have seen Panda in a trailer, as she appeared in Kuma’s gameplay trailer where there was a very forceful wedding proposal offer.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players on Xbox have been dealing with a major bug that’s causing lost save files, but a fix is expected for next week, according to Larian Studios. The developer posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday to reassure fans that Microsoft’s firmware update should address the save file bug when it’s released on Jan. 16.

PlayStation 5 owners are one of the few who have yet to be able to get their hands on Sam Barlow’s interactive movie title, Immortality. But their wait is finally over, as Immortality splices onto PS5 on January 23.

It used to be that when a video game adaptation was announced, gamers would roll their eyes and watch as a trainwreck would slowly unfold before them. But more recently, movie and TV people have put much more time, effort, and budget into these adaptations, and the results have been worthwhile. TV shows and movies about video games have been nominated for awards recently, and some future adaptations are some of the more anticipated things coming out. For example, gamers were very curious when it was announced that a God of War adaptation was coming to Amazon Prime Video.

Behaviour Interactive is keeping the Dead by Daylight crossover train chugging with DLC based on 2024’s winner of some awards, Alan Wake 2. The eponymous wordsmith will be joining the game as a survivor.

Plenty of excitement has built up around The Last of Us as we start off 2024. We had the big HBO live-action adaptation last year, which probably sparked a good amount of fan resurgence for the IP. However, we have The Last of Us Part II Remastered this year in the marketplace. This will arrive later in the month and might cause fans to pick the game up again or try the sequel for the first time. With that said, some fans might have waited to see if The Last of Us would take home any notable awards from the Golden Globes yesterday evening.

The Last of Us failed to pick up any prizes at The Golden Globes last night, falling short to a sweep from another HBO show, Succession.

Succession and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer were the biggest winners at the 2024 Golden Globes awards, which felt a little predictable given how thoroughly they dominated their respective categories — particularly the acting categories, which in a couple of different cases had three Succession performers dueling for the top spot. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie didn’t fare as well in the mix, even though it was nominated in many of the categories — ultimately, it only walked away with Best Original Song and the “Cinematic And Box Office Achievement” award.

HBO's The Last of Us scooped up eight awards at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2023 last night.

HBO’s The Last of Us, based on the hit 2013 Naughty Dog game, has been burning up the awards season. Case in point, the show won eight awards during last night’s Creative Emmys Awards, beating immensely popular shows like Succession and The White Lotus in several categories.

Many of the PS5's best games put the SSD to good use, while simultaneously providing unprecedented tactile feedback via the DualSense controller.

Baldur's Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 prepare to take another victory lap, as the pair lead nominations at the New York Game Awards 2024. The Game Awards is typically an event that is not just for the awards. In fact, you can easily argue that this event throws the actual award ceremony on the back burner. Instead, it’s an event highlighting some games coming our way further. We’ve seen several new game reveals at these events, and last year’s ceremony was no different. Mecha BREAK, at first glance, has all the flash of a mecha anime brought to life. A few hours ago, Valve closed the Steam Awards 2023 polls to announce the winners in each of the ten categories. To the surprise of absolutely no one, Baldur's Gate 3 has claimed the Game of the Year award in the 2023 Steam Awards, along with the crown for Outstanding Story-Rich Game. It probably would have won even more, but the Steam Awards rules limit games to nominations in a maximum of two categories, presumably to avoid any across-the-board ass-kickings.

Blizzard has clarified that the extra 500 Traders Tender received by players this month is an intended but unlisted reward from the Trading Post Enthusiast achievement for completing the monthly trading post bonus twelve times.

2023 kicked off with Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos reiterating that in spite of the success Rian Johnson’s crowd-pleasing mystery-comedy Glass Onion had in its brief theatrical release, Sarandos had no regrets about not putting it into more theaters. The release functioned as it was meant to, as a promotional campaign for the movie’s availability on streaming. In other words: Netflix is not in the movie-release business, it’s in the Netflix business. And its business model does not typically involve anyone having one of their best movie-theater experiences of the year.
